I'm running my 1st game of GOA as ET.
I have loads of trenches but don't know how to deploy them.
At what phase is this done and what do you press?

Using 1.22 Beta.

Once a Country Buys trenches during the Strategic Phaze, and then they appear... You can dig them on Movement... They'll immediately be effective by the first combat

You do not need to deploy them and they remain until either destroyed by artillery or attacking troops/tanks

Does this mean no user intervention is needed aside from the buying?
Or there is a button in movement phase (never noticed).

You have to allocate them yourself - right click on an infantry unit that hasn't moved nd you'll get the option to entrench if that nation has some entrenchments available and that hex hasn't reached your maximum level.

You'll know the unit is then entrenched by a "1" appearing on the counter (bottom). After you have researched "Trenches" you will then be able to spend more trench points and the number will change -- up to "4".

and terrain also offers an entrenchment value, 4 is not the maximum..

4 is the maximum value you'll see on the unit tho - only entrenchments bought and paid for actually display.
