Innos -> peculiarity in harbor/garrison combat (4/3/2008 1:06:39 AM)

Ah, Finally this game is out. I bought the game and started my first game as Great Britain. After grabbing some minors, I realised that France had left all of it's fleet in Brest (not a good place in my experience) with one factor of garrison in the city and no corps near by (happens easily with Brest). So, I decided to sink the poor Frency fleet, so they don't need to bother in any naval endeavours: - a bit more fleets on the blockade and I landed a British corps in Brest - managed to breach the garrison and annihilated the defenders => my first supprise was that once I got the city the Frenchy fleet wasn't forced out. This happened only in the next French naval phase. But I suppose this is a good practice to avoid extra rounds during PBEM games. But what happened next was more strange: (not sure if I got all the details right as I was still getting used to the interface) - The French brought a corps in the Brest in their land phase (not sure were it came from as I tought none were close enough) - No battle as my corps were in the city after the breach. - Next month the delayed attempt of French to get out of Brest and me sinking their fleet - But when I tried to load my corps during my next naval phase to my fleet I couldn't do it. Usually once you get the city in the land phase the fleets in the blockade box automatically move to the port. - On to the land phase and I notice that the French corps is in the city (as is my corps) => so it seems like the French land force were able to come back into the city without a fight. I was really expecting them to have to try succeed in a breach. Maybe somekind of bug caused by the fleet still being in the city (with a delayed force move flagged)? I was using the 1.01 patch. //Innos
