diamok -> Run-time error 91 & 429 (possible fix) (4/3/2008 6:26:58 PM)

I was having these issues with both versions (pre 2.0, 2.0 and 2.2) of MF, I am running XP. I read a number of threads here about both issues, all of which mentioned your standard fair of check directx and vid driver versions, which I had already gone over. Threads also talked about uninstalling, removing all folders for MF then reinstalling, which I had done a number of times as well. I tried every suggestion I found on these forums (including some not related to MF) but still was getting the 91 error (pre-2.0 MF) and the 429 error with 2.0 and beyond version. I decided to go hunting and a couple hours later, I determined it was an issue with Visual Basic. How did I figure this out you may ask? Luck actually, it was either VB or ActiveX, though I still think my ActiveX is all screwed up too. But!!! Going with the VB theory, I downloaded Windows Script 5.6, installed and wham-o, I am now playing MF without a hitch. This may or may not be a solution for others in the run-time error situation, but it worked for me, it could for you. Windows Script 5.6 Download Site Non Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 Download Site Take care,
