Motomouse -> RE: War/Strategy games for Linux? (4/4/2008 5:23:46 PM)

While I dual boot xp and linux since several years (Job, Blender 3D, Graphics Inkskape&Gimp and Programming only on Linux, XP for my gaming needs & Video editing) recently I often boot Ubuntu for gaming as well. I did opt for the 64 bit release of the upcoming 8.04 Ubuntu Release (don't use it yet if you are new to linux and wait for the official release) and I like it very much. Free Software: Battle for Wesnoth is an excellent 2d Strategy Game. (Windows binary also available) I also enjoy, although no strategy or war, recently the 1.0.0. FlightGear flight simulator. I also own FSX and XPlane8, while FlightGear is no match for the graphics yet (a interesting forest patch is in the row) I enjoy several of its features and I really prefer to develop free scenery for a free programm. Proprietary Software: The excellent Domininos 3 (Dont let the graphics fool you, this is defenitly the king of the kings fantasy strategy turn based multiplayer game) works perfectly on Linux.
