Is there a way to reload the turn already in the tracker? I run the turn, then saved it and loaded it via multi turn loader. Then I went back and worked on it, and would like to load it again.

Sorry, there is no way to reload a turn... Most of the functions that compare turn-by-turn modify the database in a way that could make "unloading" a turn problematic and reloading a turn would require that function to prevent duplicate database key errors.

BigBadWolf -> RE: WitPTracker 1.2 (9/19/2008 11:53:13 PM)

Oh, well, just have to do it the hard way.

Thanks, Floyd.

floydg -> WitPTracker 1.3 (9/21/2008 8:48:31 PM)

Version 1.3 of WitPTracker is now available from the usual place (http://witptracker.googlepages.com).

The following problems have been fixed:
  • Range of aircraft correct with multiple drop tanks.
  • Hanging of the process reading a new save game for small scenarios and other problems.
  • Victory Points panel with an incomplete turn.
  • Histories with incomplete turns in all places (e.g., Base, LCU, Air Group, Ship Damage, and new histories).
  • Ship Class endurance greater than 32767 (requires reloading from the beginning)
  • Refresh of Port view in Ship Repair panel.
  • Display of enemy aircraft pools in Air Production.

    The following features / changes have been added:
  • Pilots read in turn-by-turn, history of a pilot shown. Alerts added for various pilot “events”.
  • Aircraft production history.
  • Aircraft ranges in Aircraft panel details.
  • More visible rows in Ship Repair histories.
  • Notes column in Victory Points panel.
  • Durability of each ship shown in Ship Repair panel (both tabs).
  • LCU Panel adds TOE (Formation) tab, along with TOE percentage in LCU details and LCU history. Also, a TOE comparison added.
  • LCU Panel shows as a tooltip in the LCU location what a TF's destination is, if the LCU is loaded on a ship.
  • New CHS region mapping from VSWG.
  • Alert for a ship about to start building.
  • Addition of filter for 'SS' in the Ship panel.
  • Addition of counts of delayed and sunk classes in the Naval summary panel.

    Enjoy!

    Floyd and Damian

  • n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3 (9/22/2008 1:32:00 AM)

    Floyd,

    just upgraded and I seem to have lost VP totals ...

    Also I messed up with the ShipProduction, it is looking at the Accel Delay and determining odd or even, when it should look at the delay ... snafu !

    Otherwise all else looks fine. Get well soon.

    --Cheers---

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3 (9/22/2008 1:45:22 AM)

    Maybe the above error is my fault pulling over the DB files from my working copy as it seems to be ok from the 1.2 build ... sorry to bother.
    Anyway, anyone else ?
    Damian.

    [edit] Actually I'm getting a paint error when I move it (VP) across the whole table width ...

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3 (9/22/2008 3:29:09 AM)

    Just did a little more testing ...

    If you upgrade from 1.2 then there is a paint error with the VP screen.
    If you start afresh then there are no problems I can see ...

    Sorry for the multiple posts about the same thing ... I have to get off to work now...

    Damian

    Roger Neilson II -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3 (9/22/2008 10:40:53 PM)

    I cans ee the same odd error on the VP screen - loads of extra columns that are empty appear as you scroll right.

    Roger

    Okay, I was able to reproduce it and fix it. Once I get some fixes from Damian on some things, we'll release a 1.3.1...

    Floyd

    floydg -> WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/23/2008 11:42:43 PM)

    Release 1.3.1 now fixes the Victory Points panel and Ship Production problems found.
    The ZIP file can be found here (as usual): http://witptracker.googlepages.com

    Thanks Floyd,
    it seems to be much better now ...

    All quiet ... I hope that means we got it right. [&:][:D]

    Now to show off my Ace In A Day & pilot histories ... (I know you purists, want 0-5 ... but some of my research suggested that as long as you shot 5 down in a day, it's ok ...) Please don't argue with me about it here ...

    Do I just unzip in the witp tracker folder?

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.2 (9/24/2008 3:40:10 AM)

    From a previous post but for your convenience ...

    quote:

    ORIGINAL: n01487477
    And remember to back up the old tracker, at least until you have the new one working correctly.
    What I do is:
    1. Download the new version.
    2. Unzip to a new location.
    3. Copy files (shown in the pic) + the last save file.
    4. Start the new Tracker and see if it is working. It will say Upgrading DB.
    5. Try to load a new turn.

    [image]local://upfiles/19798/F3ED06C623DE455290E821502B2B66AC.jpg[/image]

    Alternatively, I think you can just copy the WitpTracker executable jar file into the working folder and run it ...

    EDIT: you beat me to it... but it will only report that the database is being upgraded if it needs to be upgraded.

    Yes. Or you can just replace the witptracker.jar file from the ZIP with what you currently have.

    Nomad -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/24/2008 4:59:53 AM)

    anyone know what this error message is about? It doesn't seem to affect the operation of tracker.

    [image]local://upfiles/4176/89C4BDB779EE4811B2E65759B184AD3B.jpg[/image]

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/24/2008 5:15:52 AM)

    Nomad,
    It should not affect normal Tracker operation ... for some reason the program is trying to issue an alert on a ship, that it cannot find / find its name or [&:] (Floyd knows this area better than I)... thus causing a paint problem.

    To minimise paint problems, when I load a turn I switch to the device menu. I'm not saying that this is the cause of your problem ... just a way to minimise some alert screen probs.

    floydg -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/24/2008 12:42:54 PM)

    Yes Nomad, this is a "normal" error that Java issues when you are displaying a panel which has dynamic data and it's being asked to repaint some data that is no longer there (being reloaded). The only way I can get rid of those is to "block" the application when a turn is being loaded. You were displaying alerts at the time and maybe were switching between windows (happens to me a lot).

    But you can safely ignore those. Or do as Damian suggested - display something that doesn't change from the save game data, like devices, ship classes, aircraft or aircraft comparison.

    Floyd

    Nomad -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/24/2008 12:43:31 PM)

    OK, I was loading the next turn - with the alerts showing since they are the default view when I open tracker. I then went to something else while it loaded and returned to tracker sometime later.

    scott64 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/24/2008 4:29:41 PM)

    Nice feature [:'(] But I don't think they were aces in a day. I do not recall shooting down those planes in the turn. So probably when loading the program saw these pilots have 5 kills. Still a nice addition [:)][8D]

    [image]local://upfiles/14027/9BF6C9B619B0451589D5DC1338B3CFA3.jpg[/image]

    n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/24/2008 4:46:27 PM)

    Yeah Scott, it does a comparison between the previous data for the pilot, so if you miss some turns you could get this message of Ace in a day. I probably should have got it to check the turn as well as the data ... but there are limitations to everything ... usually time.

    The other error I'm not so sure about, except to say that it is a DB error, the program is trying to overwrite a table entry of the same turn & same leader...Floyd will probably do a follow up.

    [edit] It shouldn't cause too many problems however unless it failed to finishing reading the turn.

    Looks to me like leader 21024 was relieved of duty on turn 62.
    Can you see what the program states his status is? I am guessing you can ignore this error...

    Nomad -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/25/2008 2:11:05 PM)

    Question: I am starting a new game as Japan. When is the best time to run the initial turn and which one do I use? I am doing a non-historical start and I have one that I saved to check my password( no orders given ) and I will have the one where I have done all of my orders. Should I use the one with no orders given so all of my orders show up on the next turns tracker report?

    Micke II -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/25/2008 8:56:35 PM)

    For me this version is working perfectly well.
    The history of the LCU and pilots is particularly useful. WitPTracker helps to understand better the hidden mecanisms of the game concerning the evolution of replacement, morale, experience, fatigue, disruption.
    Without this tool it's impossible to follow all these data.
    Thanks to n01487477 for this wonderful tool. I used it at the beginning of a turn to see where are the problems and try to correct them.

    It really depends on what you want to track. For example, if you make changes to your production, do you want to see it on the turn it happened or the turn after? In the grand scheme of things, I suppose it won't really matter that much. I use the turn before I make any changes so I know what things I need to tinker with that turn.

    Thanks Damian & Floyd,
    I dont use it everyday but use it monthly, maybe a japanese player would use it more in managing his economy.

    To find the number of users, and ask other questions, I think you can run a poll on the forum??

    Ambassador -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/27/2008 2:45:15 PM)

    Great update, currently downloading it !

    I, for one, use it for each and every turn.  It doesn't take that long to copy the save file to the tracker folder and read the turn.  And at least it keeps the data in store for when I'll need it (maybe several weeks/months of game-time later).

    BTW, installation completed, and a pet-peeve of mine now works correctly : the ordering of the turn column in the Alert panel.  It sorts the turns numerically, not textually, now.  Great![:)]

    Cav Trooper -> RE: WitPTracker 1.3.1 (9/27/2008 8:47:38 PM)

    Need some help here. I've installed the latest version of WITP Tracker, but can not get the current turn to load, and am not able to get additional turns to load. Other problem I'm having is that when I go to get multiple turns loaded like I've seen in the screen shots, I see the directory query, but when i click on it, I don't see any .pws options to choose from. Any help on how to get it all working so that I can do multiple turns would help. Would greatly appreciate it.
