LitFuel -> Install problem (4/15/2008 7:44:31 AM)

Hi,

Well, I bought the disc which arrived today and everything installs ok until the very end. It looks like it's on the very last part of the install and at CCIII/support/cc.exe and then it just stops loading and it asks me to retry, ignore or abort or something like that...retry never works, ignore will let the shortcut appear but it doesn't linstall the exe file and therefore I can't install the rest of the utilites and what not(I checked in the folder support and the exe isn't in there). and eventually I get this messeage (A decompression error has occurred (#6). Very freaking frustrating...I tried it on two different drives and it stops on the same spot on both. Help!.

please contact  support@matrixgames.com   and explain your problem.

LitFuel -> RE: Install problem (4/15/2008 4:06:05 PM)

thought I just did..why have a support forum and then tell me to go someplace else...ugh!

Andrew Williams -> RE: Install problem (4/15/2008 10:49:20 PM)

This is a support forum for the game itself.

You have asked a question that the developers can't answer as they (we ) are not making the disks, copy protection, etc etc.

Your question will probably involve an exchange of emails and maybe a replacement disk with addresses, proof of purchase credit card details etc... you don't post those details on an open forum.

cheers, and hope your issue is resolved quickly.

Andrew

ok, thanks. I sent an email to them right after my last message this morning and haven't heard anything yet.  How about this question then, would a previous install screw up a new install? I bought this once before but then had to sell it for money reasons..then bought a new one. The old was deleted and I did a regedit to checked for old entries and found a few but not sure  if I got them all or where they all are in the directories.  Just seems strange it installs fine until the very end when it gets to the EXE file.

LitFuel -> RE: Install problem (4/16/2008 1:41:38 AM)

I'm thinking it's a bad disc/file now. The exe file isn't installing into the support folder, the disc just keeps spinning back and forth like it's looking for something that isn't on the disc. I need that exe file to get everything else to load...errrrr! I received Modern Tactics at the same time and had no problems with that so I know it isn't my drive.  Still nothing from Matrix Support...so I have a $40.00 coaster at the moment. :(  nice.

Your email for support will be dealt with.

I don't know who NWS online is or if they are authorised to sell the game.

LitFuel -> RE: Install problem (4/16/2008 4:44:51 AM)

They emailed but then I asked a quick followup question and long wait again, at this rate it will take forever. I've never had a problem with a Matrix game before but so far I'm not impressed now that I have.

I got it from this site: http://yhst-12000246778232.stores.yahoo.net/

They have been selling Matrix stuff for quite a while and I've read comments by matrix staff that say they are ok to sell.

ok, kewl... you should be fine then.

LitFuel -> RE: Install problem (4/16/2008 11:53:49 PM)

Hey Matrix..how about a response on my two support emails..gave you my diagnotic log last night?????

Andrew Williams -> RE: Install problem (4/17/2008 12:41:26 AM)

No one here can help you with that problem.

Please wait for a respons or follow up via email your request for support at support@matrixgames.com

LitFuel -> RE: Install problem (4/17/2008 4:41:02 PM)

Obviously...I sent three to them and nothing back...just trying to get some attention. I got some help from another source as they never responded. This will be the last matrix game I buy.

Andrew Williams -> RE: Install problem (4/17/2008 10:51:57 PM)

Must be someone else with a game from NWS online that they responded to....

have you contacted the company you purchased the game from?

I'll check further into the email pile.
