Originally posted by stutzkalter ok, i try to explain my little problem in an other way: i know the meaning of the number (1) behind the frontarmor!!! but what does it mean when you find the number (2) behind the front armor like the 'hs 129b-3'. thats not in the manual. thx stutzkalter
For airplanes I have always thought the front armor rating was the amount of damage points the plane could take before being shot down. The top armor rating of 1 is a flag for the plane to be a dedicated ground support plane (returns for more attacks easier). The side armor rating which is the number in parens in the encyclopedia is actual plane armor that helps the plane resist being shot down. Of course I may have it all wrong, since I rarely use planes and most of my experiance is in shooting them down, not using them offensively. thanks, John.
