I did a quick search and nothing came up, so here goes;

The game constantly stops responding, especially on large random scenarios. I have to bring up task manager and end the program. It usually happens during the Republic AI turn. The things I have changed is to make supply bases buildable, and added buildable factories, though I have turned buidling them off on the universals to see if that has any effect.

It also happens running a "clean" masterfile, with large randoms with multiple AI opponents. It has happened in the 1.10 and the new version, 1.15 or whatever. I have repeatedly removed and reloaded the game, but am getting ready to just remove it permantently, since for me it has been the buggiest piece of software I have ever run into. Even when it does deign to work, it is slow as mollases.

I would love to be able to give you an error message, but it doesn't even bother to throw one, it just stops responding.

Sorry to hear your having problems. Please bear with me while we investigate this.
Could you give me your system specs?

Speed?
RAM?
Operating System?

How long was the AI unresponsive before you used taskmanager to kill the game?

Sorry about not giving that to you earlier,should have thought about it.

I am on a 1.88 core duo, with 1gig ram, XP with SP2. Video card is a geforce 7800 go card. I have given it up to 30 minutes, though usually I am not that patient and kill it after about 5 or 10 minutes of no activity, no progress on the AI step count.

Your system specs should be ok. Assuming it is 1.88Ghz for each core.

So that leaves me a bit with a mystery, since you are the first one still reporting these mysterious hangs with v1.15.

Could you send me (1) your generic.ptmaster file and (2) if you have it, a savefile that causes the bug lateron to vic@xs4all.nl

I hope you can hang in there and help me catch whatever is wrong.

It is possible nothing is wrong. On large maps with lots of AI, the AI turn processing can take a very long time, easily 30 minutes or more.
