Wiseman -> Lost my AO HQ in the editor - Help needed (9/28/2000 9:10:00 AM)

I spent about 8 hours designing a scenario. Then I realized that my HQ unit is MIA. The AO HQ unit shows it's self as being a passenger. But looking at all the units, unmounting all units, even deleting all the units except the HQ unit still does not show the unit. It is gone, but yet it still shows on the OOB list. Any ideas? Any ideas on how to bring it back? Thanks, not so Wiseman

Hello, I had this happen before, usually I would save the scenario, exit the editor, and re-enter the editor, reload the scenario. Can't figure why it does that, but it does?! If that doesn't work, you can always try to repurchase the unit, being as the slot is 'empty', haven't tried that though. Hope this helps. ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

Good suggestion, Warhorse. If that does not work, try to replace the unit. Scroll through your units till you arrive at A0. Then click on the "R" button on the right and scroll through the units till you find an HQ unit. Click on it, then go back to unit deploy and click on the map. It should appear. Let us know if you get it squared away, Wiseman....WB

Thanks for the replies. Warhorse, I had tried what you suggested already, but without luck. Wild Bill: I tried what you suggested before too without success. The OOB shows HQ as a passenger. However there isn't anything on the map as a carrier. I did delete all purchases once. Could this have an effect, if the HQ was mounted in one of the units that was deleted? Thanks, Wiseman

Yep, that was it. I've done the same and then the only choice was to start over buying units. I could not recover the A0 once it was deleted as a transported unit. So just start buying again. Its the only way I know. Sorry. WB ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Is there a way to edit the scen.dat file? Wiseman

Wild Bill -> (9/29/2000 8:57:00 AM)

Probably, but it would take a programmer to do it. The only way you will edit it, I fear is in the scenario editor itself, my friend. WB ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. It's much appreciated. Wiseman

I've seen the same problem result from: 1. Buying a vehicle 2. Loading the HQ on the vehicle 3. Deleting the vehicle HQ ends up as a passenger on "nothing". I've never been able to figure out how to fix it - once it occurs the scenario appears to be permanently damaged. Don
