I usually play the South, and I'd like to make it so the North and South are close morale- wise in battles. I'd prefer them fight until I beat them up a little more. I'd also like to mod the North not loosing as many points when a city is taken or battle lost.

Yes, battles are decided mostly on the first day unlike in reality, where key points had been contested for several days. In other words: battlefield morale or ''will to fight'' is breaking too easy. This will sometimes result in routing of an army that has many fresh brigades in its ranks who then retreat despite having seen no combat, means an army is routed whereof just the spearheads had been engaged and the main troops are still not brought up to the front when retreat is already signalled, kind of odd IMO

F.E. Ulysses Grant didnt care that much about tremendous casualties, he pushed his troops forward heedless of losses. While in FoF terms an army's will to fight in such a situation would have reached zero already, resulting in rout from the field of battle, the auhtentic troops would be continuing the assault nonetheless. To simulate such tactics I would like to know as well, what exactly makes up the "will to fight" and how can it be modified or how can the effects of losses on this parameter be toned down?!
