HiHi For what it's worth, IMO, in PBEM Reb Raiders are not only a waste of time, but considering the cost of 100 horses per unit counterproductive. Sorry Eric & Gil but I feel for PBEM, the fact that Raiders can't choose their targets (like Runners) and just get slaughtered, often hitting worthless targets, takes away one of the few benefits the South has at the start of the game. After a few PMEM games where for eg Quantrills boys out West where up to 8th Btl & Mosbys in the East around the same by spring 1863 I started as Frank intimated, just having them for the Scouting bonus with my armies. Then you get the situation where invading an empty enemy province with an army of 72,000 men your Raiders fail to harass population (not something I would doanyway given the choice) and get slaughtered for good measure, or another eg, with an army recapturing your own province, raiders slaughtered trying to do economic damage, ??? in my own province, NOOOOO! It really is a bummer, but for PBEM, Rebs (IMO) should not bother with raiders and use the horse resources for the scouting attribute. Eric, Gil 'Just a thought' but it's something maybe you can adjust in the new CoG where I assume the historical use of Guerrillas/irregulars in Spain/Austria & Russia etc will feature (then transfer it back to FoF in the next patch :-) ), IMOto be of any value there must be some form of player control and choice as with Runners in FoF. All the Best Peter
