Erik Rutins -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (5/31/2008 2:00:40 PM)

Did you have any kind of anti-virus/security software running during installation and game launch that could have interfered with the settings it needed to create or check? If so, try disabling that software and uninstalling/reinstalling. This error is generally caused when third party software tries to prevent the creation of the necessary settings or interferes with them being read.

fw1206 -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/1/2008 1:22:11 AM)

I use kaspersky internet security, but i disabled that before i installed EiA
(i do so with every program i install, because kaspersky is bothering during any installation)

fw1206 -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/1/2008 10:50:12 AM)

this error message now appears also without installing any update (firewall and antivirus are deactivated)

Erik Rutins -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/1/2008 1:40:07 PM)

That's very odd, I have no idea why that would appear if the settings were generated correctly. I'm afraid I'll have to ask someone else to look into this in more detail, which will not happen before Monday.

fw1206:

Could you try to start the game by directly dbl-clicking the EXE file in the game root directory without using the main game menu? This should be the EiANW.exe file.

fw1206 -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/2/2008 7:43:11 PM)

The same procedure as ever time. i tryed to install on a new clean pc (only windows +sp2, no fierwall, no antivirus) but also the same error.
may there someone cracked my serial??
on my pc there are no viruses, no spyware or things like that. i checked that with 3 different programs

greetings

I just wanted to pass along that we are looking into why this error is occurring and we hope to have this figured out as soon as possible.

Thanks Greg!
You're in good hands here, fw1206!

fw1206 -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/4/2008 7:12:47 PM)

yes, i see. but isn't it a little bit strange that the serial isn't working??
i've never seen any entry in the forum of an error like this

Marshall Ellis -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/4/2008 11:42:54 PM)

fw1206:

It is the first return of that value that I have seen for sure!
Definitely odd????

fw1206 -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/15/2008 4:58:22 PM)

Hi to all of you.

This week i tried to install the game on 3 or 4 pcs.
One of them got no internet connection and, oh wonder [X(], it works.
But only on the pc without internet connection. On the other pcs still the same error.
Now i think, anybody definitively cracked my serial. [:@]
I still got the mail from Matrix Games Online Store so that i can assure this serial is mine.
Does anybody think its possible to get a serial working with internet connection without buying another copy of the game?

greetings

They still have not fixed this problem for you??? WOW, that's just wrong.

I would say talk to Matrix but it's apparent you already have. There are other means to getting a serial number, none of which I'm going to discuss openly on this forum.

fw1206 -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/15/2008 6:23:25 PM)

@neverMan:
I don't think its easy to fix a maybe cracked serial.
Sure, there are other means, but i want a legal one, because i can prove that i bought this game legally.
I got original mail from Matrix Games Online Store and i got an original cd. So i want to play EiA legal.
If i would that a cracked serial, don't you think anybody else will have the same error like me [&:]

NeverMan -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/15/2008 8:35:34 PM)

Wouldn't having the error due to a cracked serial number come because Matrix checks every number? I doubt that Matrix does this, I'd be surprised anyways.

I'm just saying that it's been weeks and you still can't play the game you paid for, and that's simply unacceptable.

Marshall Ellis -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/16/2008 4:15:18 PM)

fw1206:

Are you saying that nobody has contacted you to resolve this?

Greg Wilcox -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/16/2008 4:37:56 PM)

I've tried contacting fw1206 a couple of times but I didn't get any response back, I guess the e-mails never made it though.

We're still trying to figure out what's going on. It is an error we have not had before and I've been in contact with the people who initially designed the security for us and they are scratching their heads as well.

Fw1206 could you send me an e-mail (gregw@matrixgames.com) just so I can see if responding to your e-mail will get though.

Regards,

-Greg

fw1206 -> RE: Invalid /missing serial number (6/16/2008 7:16:28 PM)

Greg, i sent you a mail of my privat mailing-address
