Herode_2 -> The Great War, running (6/1/2008 1:28:17 PM)

It's a 5 players games with (by order) :

Germany : Jay DoubleYou
Austria-Hungary : myself
Ottoman-Empire : Grymme

vs.

West : wncalpine
Russia : Delyn Locksmiths
Italy : wncalpine
Serbia : Delyn Locksmiths

The last version is v12 I think.

Grymme -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/1/2008 5:16:14 PM)

Turkey and italy didnt fight on the same side of the conflict. I am interested to join though.

I propose the following division

West-Italy
Russia-Serbia
vs
Germany
Austria-Hungary
Ottoman-Empire

Or

West
Italy & Serbia
Russia
vs
Germany
Austria-Hungary & Ottoman empire

I think the first version makes for a more fun 5 player game

I would be interested to play. As Ottoman Empire in first setup or Italy & Serbia in the second version.

Grymme -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/1/2008 6:52:15 PM)

Is it ok if i play the Ottomans? Have dreamed about playing them for a long time, although they dont have much of anything :)

Herode_2 -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/1/2008 10:05:55 PM)

Yep. I have edited the first post, you have Ottomans [:)]
West side still opened to players !

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/1/2008 11:26:04 PM)

I'll take Russia / Serbia.

wmcalpine -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/2/2008 1:22:38 AM)

All,

I will try the West/Italy, though I have never played this one before.

Bill

Herode_2 -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/2/2008 9:52:45 AM)

OK !

Please everone : send me your @mail address by MP. I'll build a list and mail it to each player.

Germany goes first. He will have to set up the game.
I suggest :
- label on (requires to edit the scenario and to alter the setting)
- shroud + shroud peak
- passwords
- anti-PBEM cheat

Be ready to start soon. [8D]

Herode_2 -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/2/2008 1:40:22 PM)

As for the game version, I use v1.16 but I suppose there is no compatibility issue vith v1.15 if some of you don't want to upgrade.

Jay Doubleyou -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/2/2008 9:47:59 PM)

I set up the game with the settings Herode posted. I will play Germany.
Turn coming to Herode in a few minutes.

Grymme -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/3/2008 7:16:36 PM)

Turn 1 done. Just waiting for wmcalpines email adress so i can send it to him

Herode_2 -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/3/2008 10:21:11 PM)

I sent the addresses by mail. Didn't you guys received it ? And twice for you Grymme [:D]
I copy it to you by PM.

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/4/2008 9:31:52 PM)

Turn sent on to Germany. I've played this scenario a few times, and almost every time Russia has collapsed. So I'm expecting a tough time of it. However, Serbia has also usually punched above her weight. So watch your Southern flank Herode.

I don't actually like the shroud peak (i assume that's what's stopping me seeing the railway lines?) Makes planning attacks that much more difficult. But never mind.

Jay Doubleyou -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/5/2008 9:09:35 PM)

Mailed turn to Austria yesterday. Where is the game atm?

Grymme -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/5/2008 9:14:37 PM)

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/11/2008 7:58:11 PM)

Just checking this isnt lost in my emails. I haven't seen anything for a couple of days.

Jay Doubleyou -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/11/2008 8:04:21 PM)

I think its stuck at wmcalpine.

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/17/2008 1:03:01 AM)

This gone missing again?

Herode_2 -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/17/2008 10:27:44 AM)

I sent the turn to Grymme (Ottoman) on 06/14 :11:22 GMT+2

Grymme -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/18/2008 11:38:05 AM)

I posted the turn on the 16th i think. It might take a little longer for me until monday. I am in Ukraine and posting from father in laws 56kb modem and have to move files by USB/stick. Not to mention that i am on holliday. But ill be back soon.

wmcalpine -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/19/2008 4:58:07 PM)

Bill

Grymme -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/19/2008 5:08:46 PM)

Ingame the Turkish news agency reports two separate victories for the ottoman/bulgarian forces. In a series of naval battles the entire russian fleet was wiped of the face of the earth for the loss of one squadron of destroyers. The ottoman empire has established an at least temporary control of the black sea (the russian fleet must have attacked with really low readiness).

In the balkan front a seasoned bulgarian infanterycorps surprised a green grekish artillerycorps and scattered them. 1 artillery regiment survived.

Jay Doubleyou -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/20/2008 5:42:08 PM)

The game will delay a bit more i guess, since im on holiday from this sunday for 1 week.
Back on june 29.

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/29/2008 1:23:25 PM)

Lads, I'm getting divorced and have had to find myself a new flat, no internet for a couple of weeks. BUT I'm popping down maccy d's or wetherspoons almost every day to check my emails, and even I'm getting bored at the speed of thsi game [:D].

It's not likely to speed up much either is it, as no one is going to get eliminated.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE no one bugger off out of this game as happened in both my diplomacy games, ruining a good position.

Vic -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/29/2008 2:50:45 PM)

Keep in mind that in 3+ player games it is possible from v1.16 onwards to change the passwords of players who dropped out through the strategic map screen.

kind reg,
vic

Herode_2 -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/29/2008 9:57:55 PM)

Summer time is not the very best season for PBEMs [;)]
Jay & wncalpine notified us about their vacations, & I guess there will be some more until september.
Anyway, I've just got Jay's turn in my box, will be played & forwarded ASAP. [8D]

Jay Doubleyou -> RE: The Great War, signing on (6/30/2008 7:54:48 PM)

No holiday for me anymore till 1st of september and im determined to continue this scenario!

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: The Great War, running (7/12/2008 12:16:28 PM)

Do we know where this is?

Jay Doubleyou -> RE: The Great War, running (7/12/2008 2:55:36 PM)

I think wncalpine is on holiday. I know Grymme, Herode, you and me aint.

wmcalpine -> RE: The Great War, running (7/16/2008 4:31:37 PM)
