Not sure if this has been adressed before, however to me it seems that the will to fight in detailed battles is somewhat lacking. What I am thinking about is the fact that reinforcements does not affect the Wtf. An example would be my current game were an US division starts to lay siege to Island #10, next turn I move my Western Army (consisting of 80k men) in to break the siege. The US Div holds 8k men, but are reinforced by 75k(-ish) more men by an adjacant army. Their Wtf still remains at 4 even after these reinforcements arrive, and to me this seems somewhat off. If I had been in a Div facing 10-1 odds I just KNOW I would feel my spirit raise at the sight of enough friendly troops to raise the odds to 1-1.

That is how it works, but if I remember correctly it has been discussed before whether reinforcements should count towards WTFight.

well it really does not feel right tbh, I am pretty sure the union troops at Gettysburg experienced a raise in morale as reinforcements arrived.

It is working as intended.  It has been discussed to change the behavior, but there hasn't been a strong demand for this.
