Has anyone ever gotten to defend on a river crossing in a DCG?

I don't believe that is an option.

HAL just isn't that smart.

thanks for the quick response and all the work on JTCS

When playing a DCG, maybe it may be wiser to not cross the river and just take pot shots. Accept the loss and retention of your core unit in relative full strength for the next scenario.

You're welcome!

Yeah, well tell that to your commanders after the river crossing order is given, lol.

Indeed, fortunately it is just a DCG.

In an LCG, failure to successfully complete a mission may relieve you of your command!

Thanks for the advice, sat on top of a hill with a few tanks and directed arty fire to the enemy, finished with an outstanding and got a medal, which has never happened for me on a river crossing in which the river wasnt frozen.
