What is diference beetwen entranched 100 and fortifed ?

When i fortifed ART unit and bombard afther that they are not fortifed anymore but they still have entranched 100 . Some of units are fortifed with only entranched 27 (one aa art unit in NA scenario which i play right now) .

The hex's entrenchment % is a terrain parameter & "fortified" is a unit deployment mode.

The terrain parameter affects how easily it is for a unit to get to "fortified" when digging in. There is no other benefit. The "fortified" deployment mode provides the unit with a defense multiplier. Note that there is also "fortified" terrain (the Maginot-Line type tiles) that provide occupying units a defense multiplier regardless of the unit deployment mode.
