TOAW rules the world! [;)]  (maybe you could have an english-speaking area in your forum?)

sPzAbt653 -> RE: Welcome to TOAW Chinese web (6/25/2008 1:56:38 AM)

It all looks like Chinese to me.

rhinobones -> RE: Welcome to TOAW Chinese web (6/25/2008 2:53:57 AM)

Is this mainland China or Taiwanese? Either way, I wonder how many legal copies of TOAW have been sold in China.

Regards, RhinoBones

Between the way the dollar is going down and the Chinese economy is going up, who knows[:-].

I'm amazed that that anyone over there is playing it given the lack of translation and the lack of interest in 'western' wars. I'm not really paranoid about piracy from China, My understanding is that games over there run something like $5 for a legitamate retail copy for the games on sale over there. For the next version, if I can get it really playable in Chinese with decent scenarios for them, I'll worry about marketing it over there.

I'm amazed Spider, let me know if I can do anything to help.

If anyone wants a really amusing time, try going to bablefish and asking it to translate that page. I tried the traditional Chinese to english translation, and it's seems to translate the most words into English, but they don't make any sense<g>

There are some "Invasion Taiwan" scenarios around, and then there's also the Korean War which may be of interest

What, "the jade-like stone chains roar" and "TOAW contaminates the Imperial concubine" doesn't mean anything to you? [X(][:D]

Yeah,Mainland of China.I'm not sure whether TOAW3 can be sold with the official permission here because of some of its uncomfortable scenarios to the government,however,TOAW2 have been published many years ago with a very low price in China, some of the cenarios which related to China have been removed of course.Anyway,we wanna to see that the next version will be appeared in every software-stores in China, then I would be glad to tell you, there'are a great lot of legal copies of TOAW have been sold in China.

Regards,Alex

Hi,Ralph. It's true that we're playing the game without translation, but I don't think that we're lack of interest in 'wertern' wars. The new generation are familiar with the world abroad, their interests extended to every realm just as the westerner did.As I know, there may be a lot of boardgame and wargaming fans in China, that's a growing market.
We're waiting for the next version, which can be sold publicly in China.Price won't be a problem if it really worth.
BTW,we're using Simplified Chinese, while Hongkong and Taiwan using Traditional Chinese. We're about to add an English forumInfo in the forum, hope that would be helpful for communication.
Thanks!

BR,
Alex

Vaticinator -> RE: Welcome to TOAW Chinese web (6/30/2008 6:42:56 AM)

As far as I can see, the only problem is that you guys didn't even know our existence. However, it will soon be history. Sooner or later you will find that we are just like any of you guys, and there aren't any supposed communication barriers existed.[:D]

PS. some weird stuff such as "Imperial concubine stuff" really really shocked me[X(][X(][X(]
