I dunno why, but I stuck around. My pals all got bored, went out chasing pu$$y. I sat down next to this guy at the table. He kept on writing. I didn't say anything. Neither did he.

I saw one poem. It was this:

"I went without hope
And met an angel who gave soft, but firm command.
He called me friend, grasped my hand,
And confirmed that I was damned."

Pen down, fold, stuff.

pasternakski -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/20/2008 6:52:12 AM)

HEY MA! HEY MA! LOOKY ME! I FABERED!

Ma sez: "Fine. Now shut up and take out the garbage, willya?"

pasternakski -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/20/2008 6:54:36 AM)

Oh. The story? I fell asleep in my chair, woke up with the sun shining over the old state capitol building. The poet dude was gone. So was the jar. I stood up, looked around. Nothing. It was Sunday morning.

Never saw him again. Never found out any more than what I already knew.

So wake up you creeps, it's time to get some poetry going!

Bugger off [image]http://www.e-goat.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/airforce/PDT_Xtremez_36.gif[/image]

Quite probably you will, unless there is some sort of 'misunderstanding' at customs, involving rubber gloves and a private room [:'(]

I believe that the place I am headed to is actually hot, rather than warm...and there will be slightly less sea. But there will be more camel spiders [:D] On the plus side, I have three weeks leave sorted for when I get home [image]http://www.e-goat.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/airforce/PDT_Xtremez_29.gif[/image] Maybe if the USAF aren't too busy I'll get to see a B-1 go off the taxiway into the bondu [:D][image]http://www.e-goat.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/airforce/PDT_Xtremez_30.gif[/image] It's bound to happen again some time...

PS: I hope it rains...especially for you [:'(]

Exactly ... in the "old days" when employment applications used to have a "race" block for us to fill out (optionally of course) ... I enjoyed checking "Other" and filling in "Human" ... I'd probably get in trouble with "HR" if I did that now-a-days.

In the Army I filled out the DD Form 2 for my ID as "Eyes: two". As I was at reception I didn't get dusted as well as I shoulda but later I ran into the Drill Sergeant that was there. He remembered me and we shared a laugh.[:D]

Hi all,

B-52 bomber crashes near Guam

(CNN) -- A U.S. Air Force B-52 with six crew members on board crashed off the island of Guam on Monday, an Air Force spokesman said.

The B-52H Stratofortress was in Guam as part of a four-month rotation.

Rescuers with the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy were searching a point in the Pacific Ocean about 30 miles northwest of Guam, a U.S. territory, where the plane is believed to have crashed, said Capt. Joel Stark, spokesman for Andersen Air Force Base.

He had no information on whether anyone survived.

The B-52H Stratofortress was based at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, and was in Guam as part of a four-month rotation, Stark said.

It went down about 9:45 a.m. local time (7:45 p.m. ET Sunday).

A B-52 from Andersen Air Force Base was scheduled to fly over crowds celebrating Liberation Day, which commemorates the U.S. capture of Guam from Japan in 1944, Stark said.

But it was unclear whether the plane that crashed was the one that had been scheduled to perform the flyover.
