USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/12/2008 11:37:33 PM)

New page to get back on top, where we belong!  [8D]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:21:58 AM)

Xoing!!!

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:22:28 AM)

Hmmmm... no one about... except me... [:(]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:23:19 AM)

Oh dear... an old feeling is creeping up on me...[sm=00000622.gif]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:23:59 AM)

Hmmm... seems i'd have to do 59 posts total to complete a faber...[X(]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:24:39 AM)

If USS America hadn't claimed that first post, it would be a lot easier...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:25:16 AM)

Oh, well, a little challenge... still... it is a lot of posts...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:26:12 AM)

What shall we talk about? The stream of consciousness business is important to a classic faber, i believe.

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:26:52 AM)

Of course, others do favor the one word approach, but i think it lessens the achievement...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:27:44 AM)

Still others might say: "But how can you go lower than a faber?"

i say to them: "BAH!" [:D]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:28:37 AM)

Anyway, i just found a book and used up a couple of my Barrnes & Nobles gift cards i'd been saving...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:29:49 AM)

It's about the forts that defended America: 1600 to the Present, entitled
FORTRESS AMERICA... it looks pretty neat.

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:30:32 AM)

i've added it to my reading list...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:31:19 AM)

It's got a lot of neat stuff about the fortifications of WW2 that look very interesting. [8D]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:32:27 AM)

They mention an incident in Feb 1942 that seems to be the inspiration of the Spielberg movie "1941"...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:35:46 AM)

It was called the "Great Los Angeles Air Raid" - 24 Feb 1942. Apparently a lot of AA ammo was expended on the "attackers"...[X(] [:D]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:36:27 AM)

Still no sign of anyone...[>:]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:37:13 AM)

Is it really worth it to complete a faber? It will just get erased in about a year i guess...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:38:14 AM)

i should be doing more paperwork in my home office... it just seems to multiply...[sm=00000018.gif]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:39:20 AM)

Sort of like that science fiction story i read years ago... a guy discovered that paperclips would breed, and soon you'd find them everywhere...[X(]

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:39:39 AM)

Feeling lonesome, Bob?[;)]

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:40:18 AM)

...then one day, all the paperclips disappeared... but all these wire hangers would show up...

Oh, hi, T... How's it going? [sm=innocent0009.gif]

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:42:30 AM)

Oh, just considering Hedgehogs and Mousetraps...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:42:39 AM)

Heck, i didn't even reach the end of the 29 posts...

The ASW weapons, right... or are you thinking about emulating VSWG by launching hedgehogs from mousetraps? [X(] [:-]

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:45:35 AM)

I'm just thinking about their representation in WitP. They're technically similar to the Jap 3-inch A/S mortar, even though this was a modified trench weapon, firing one bomb at a time, quite unlike Hedgehog and Mousetrap.

and... so... what? [&:]

Are you trying to modify the model them or something?

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:52:08 AM)

i am a bit confused on what you are considering...

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/13/2008 12:53:00 AM)

And then he's gone...

"Who was that masked man?" [X(] [:D]
