Eventually, it causes the forum software to do strange things or crash if you keep quoting and quoting... iirc, Swift did something like that on the anti-thread some time ago.

I can understand why any woman would object to anyone buying a book. Would she rather you have a cocain addiction? Maybe you should waste it at a strip joint? If your girl friend complains about you expanding your mind, ask where she would rather you spend it on? I hope she's beautiful and talented , because she certain sounds like she's high maintainance. [:(]

Please... No woman ever understood why a man would buy a book on military history. That's not just LogBoy's GFU...

Obviously you guys need to shop around more. When I buy a book on Naval, military or aviation history , my spouse asks if I'd mind if she picked up a book on the US civil war , or perhaps on the Armarda! There are girl history majors too! (it makes it easy to swap out , and read each others too!). [:D]

I call bull ****.

You can wear that same material! It's true! Ask Mike (USS America!). 1/5 of our library is Civ war , and it ain't mine! [:D]

you just hire a girl to pretend she was your wife while miek was there.

If so, she was pretty convincing. She tolerated Steve quite well. [:D]

And next Bobo will want to know "how do you know that I was me"?[&:]

There is only one solution... Bobo will have to move in with Steve and spouse to verify all these claims... [sm=00000622.gif]

[X(][X(][X(] I'd rather have him think me a liar!!!![X(][X(][X(]

me to washington is way to cold.

I wish it were. It's been 90 and very, very humid. [:)]

Ok, I have nothing to add, but this post was looking long, stretched out and strange. So I wanted to keep it going. I do not know why.

" I'm betting alcohol.... "

Yes sir !

OK, I've decided that I'm ready for AE to be released now.  [:D]

Good night, Brothers.  [>:]

Good luck, Historiker!  Training for an Ironman triathlon is fun.  The big issue is having enough hours in the week to do it.  It takes up a lot of time when the runs and rides start getting longer and longer.  I've done 2 Half Ironman's and really wasn't able to train properly for either one.  Until my daily and weekly life schedules change quite a bit, I won't be able to consider a full Ironman.

So why don't you just join me? :) Risk it and don't think about the consequences [;)]

Because I'm happily married, and would like to keep it that way. [:D]
my friend who does full irons say the saying in that community is if you have a wife or girlfriend it means your not training hard enough.

Oddly enough, the bulk of the triathlons I did were when I was still single. [:)]

[:D]
That's great! I'll see what my girlfried'll say if she sees how much I'll have to train. But on the other hand, there are also women doing ironmans... [;)]

Oh, there are indeed! Most of them are not the type to sit in front of the TV stuffing pastries into their pie hole all day, either. [8D]

Yes! But on the other hand, I know two places, where a woman shall have at least some fat... [;)]
I'd guess most "Ironwomen" are rather skinny, no?

Often unhealthily so... normal feminine bodily functions essential for reproduction will generally shut off when body fat goes below a certain percentage (i don't recall the percentage off hand, but i think it varies from study to study).

Some studies have shown this decreased hormonal production can lead to bone problems as well (despite that stress that exercise puts on the body should increase bone density).

Menstrual cycle can certainly go haywire.

Well, stop entirely in severe cases.

rtrapasso -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/23/2009 1:09:33 PM)

To bring up another subject: i'd like to see us wind up this version of the Thread at 1000 pages and have Matrix (voluntarily) lock this down... we'd (of course) start up Thread V as soon as this happens...

Personally, i've gotten tired of having hundreds of pages of posts vanish overnight... they provide sort of history of Threadians which i like... also, i will admit i am less likely to post in the Thread with the threat of it vanishing without some much as a "poof" looming down the line.

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/23/2009 1:20:09 PM)

Sounds like a plan. I concur.

It's a brilliant plan , but is Matrix willing to have all that data sitting and holding space on it's servers? To me that's the question. At what point do they purge old threads (not just "the Thread")?[&:]

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/23/2009 1:27:20 PM)

Maybe we can put $0.25 up to buy them some more server space...
