Jonah -> Gettysburg (7/1/2008 5:53:31 PM)

Since this is a civil war game forum, I decided to post a thread in honor of the men who fought 145 years ago at that small town in Pennsyvania. On July first through third over 51,000 casualties ensued, invluding over 10,000 dead. In this battle, the fate of our nation was decided. In every battle America has fought, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Yorktown, Antietam,Bagstone and New Orleanes, none had more dire circumstances and more Important results then Gettysburg. Over 190,000 men fought n that small town, and as I stated nearly a fourth were casualties. The confederate army of Northern Virginia had never suffered a loss under Lee until this day. A battle that was not won because of Union valour but rather confederate mistakes. One descion could have changed us living in our nation today, in a battle that never should have happened, a battle that in most cases the confederates would've won. I've always been pro confederate and think of ways they could've won. This is the most Important battle of America, and this is a day to remember.
