Actually we look at it as an opportunity Tait but it comes with the territory of being able to switch to games that work rather then being chained to one that doesn't. That is an outstanding position to be in.

And one already shared by everyone. [8|]

Really? Then why are you still complaining about Harpoon[:D]

Wow. I'm sorry that I appear to have retouched off a bad rift in the H3 online community. I was not aware of all these developments in H2/H3 over the years. I played H2 for awhile some 12 or 15 or so years ago and have not followed the game until recently.

I read through some of the earlier threads and understand most of it. I do have one question about the various databases out there. Can they all be installed at the same time and the various attached scenarios played from within the game engine. In general, I'd consider that a good thing. Also, I'm assuming these databases are free downloads...or not?

Back to the H3 demo and tutorial scenarios, I played #7 and it too had a couple of glitches that the instructions seemed oblivious to. For starters, it has you set up an AAW patrol with a pair of F-14's. I set up the patrol. The air ops shows the F-14's ready to go with AtA loadouts using AMRAAMs. However, after one F-14 launched, I check it and it has no missles!! Not the end of the world as the F-14 still handled the enemy patrol planes with cannon. Once the first one landed, I reloaded it with a Phoenix loadout.

Later, the instructions note that the carrier and land base have various planes to have fun with, but there appear to be little to no ordnance for them to use. The F-15E's at the "good guy" base have nothing to load. The Seahawks on the FFG have no torpedoes to use. Etc.

Not showstopping, but oddly weak for a demo that should be impressing me.

Yes free downloads and they can be installed at the same time just not used. DB's and scenarios must match but the devs have added some functionality to the game launcher that really helps keep that stuff straight.

You never know Herman. Might be doing something for Harpoon...that somebody might not have told you about[;)]

All third-party databases like the PlayersDB, HUD, WWIIDb, etc. are freely available for download from their respective host sites. All can be hosted at the same time on your ANW installation. One of the really nice new features of the ANW Configuration Launcher is the ability to switch between databases with just one click. Each database is placed within its own folder along with all associated scenarios.

The problems you see in Tutorial #7 are due to these issues:
  1. Wrong loadout descriptions

  2. Ammo dumps emptied
Both problems have already been caught and corrected with all the PlayersDB versions.
