silentsurfer -> v3.0 campaing problem (10/3/2000 8:29:00 AM)

Hi everyone, I really need some help. I am trying to make my own long ww2 campaign from start to finish including maps and everything. My problem is, at the end of a battle when I go to upgrade my weapons for the new battle, I am stuck with the same weapon choices for the year the campaign begins. I noticed there is not a "start" and "end" date icon in the campaign editor like there was in SP3, could this be the problem? And if so, who do I fix it? I beleive the SPWAW verion is the 3.0, its the one that came in the PC gamer mag last month. I am going to download v4.0 soon and hope that fixes my problem. If anyone has ANY suggestions, please help. Thanks

When you set the date in your scenarios for the campaign that should open that time period for you with the appropriate weapons. You must set date, day, month, year, and all the other items at the bottom of the main edit screen to be able to do that. Since you set the date in your battle, you don't need start and end buttons. Word of caution. Keep them chronological, or each following scenario with a later date than the prior one or you could have problems. Hey wild bill, thanks for responding so quickly. I did set the day, month and year for each battle I make for the campaign and no matter what year they are, IE battle in 1942, it will only allow the upgrade of weapons to 1939 choices. When I click on the "mission" button on the support screen, it will tell me the date 02/1939 (my campaign begins in Spain)of the first battle. Everything else works fine, except this one problem. I am running the battles chronological but it still doesnt work. Thanks again for responding so quickly. You and your team did a really great job on this game, I just hope I can figure it out. I think the germans had an easier time trying to take Moscow than I am with this problem, I just hope I have better luck.

If you are using linked scenarios, make sure that your first scenario is in the "000" slot. Then, double check your links to make sure you have a proper progression, as Wild Bill suggested. I'm currently working on a monster German WWII campaign. So far I've linked about 105 scenarios.

Thanks for the advise and help guys, I wish I can say it solved my problem but... I did start the first campaign scenario in 000 slot and made sure all the subsequent scenarios followed the proper progression but to no avail. I have set the purchase points high enough to afford me upgraded units at the start of the next scenario. Are there any omissions I could have made in the campaign editor that would account for this problem? Perhaps the battle points or something? But that wouldnt explain why when I have it set for a 1942 battle it will give me the mission date of my original scenario. I have all but given up hope, I do appreciate the advice and if anyone else has more suggestions, please post them. I need all the help I can get.

SilentSurfer, you are absolutely correct. I started playing my monster campaign and the same thing happened. I'm currently in May 1940 with 1000 points to upgrade, and the only tanks it shows are the Pz I and II. Hmm? I've also noticed that with a linked campaign, I never get the option of purchasing air support. You would think that playing the Germans through the first 2 years of the war, there would be at least one battle where air strikes would appear on the purchase menu. Anyway, I see from the board that ver 4.2 is out. I'll download it and see if it helps.
