Saviola -> What is 92mm Nbw? (4/5/2002 2:40:35 PM)

I would like to know what is the weapon 92mm Nbw that mount on a tiger or king tiger. I've got models for each of them but I can't find such weapon...could anyone help me?

I believe it's a short range mortar used for smoke and sometimes defense. I may be wrong. Try www.wwiivehicles.com under Tiger or Panther, and look over armament.

It is mortar that can have either smoke or high explosives and in some tanks it can be directed. It is to protect tank from closerange infantry assault.

One of the good things about this forum is that it is very likely that any question you have has probably been asked before.

There is a previous thread at NbW92 and What is an Nbw 92? . (The first tread has some good info on where the designation came from and why you probably can't find any info on it).

These threads point at the following excellent site which details the weapon. The Nahverteidigungswaffe

Don't forget the search button at the top of the page if you have a question. :)

Cheers,
Reg.

Wahah... if any of you have visited /. (www.slashdot.org), this is known as "the slashdot effect". Those people toast web servers on a regulary basis.

Fun to see it happen on SP:WAW as well - it means that people reads what's posted! Yay! (never that I had any doubt in my mind, but anyway...)
