Valkyrie -> Download Issue (7/24/2008 7:51:36 AM)

This may just be something with my DSL connection, but for the past couple of weeks all of my Matrix downloads have been stalling out at 99% completion.

Through trial and error, I discovered that if I "Stop the Transfer" and then "Resume" it will kick back in and finish the transfer. This is happening on both my Windows XP 32 AND 64 bit systems in both FireFox and Opera web browsers.

It could just be me, but since downloads from other web sites come through just fine, it does seem like there is something different at your end. I first noticed it with the John Tiller Campaign series patch download which for several days wouldn't even start the transfer and then when it started to work I got the incomplete transfer problem. I kept re downloading until I figured out the stop transfer and resume trick. Since I've been transferring my game collection to my new PC, I've probably downloaded 20 or 30 patches and every one has had this problem.

BTW... the problem continues after another month.

Very aggravating, though my workaround gets me through the hangup.

In IT, when there's a workaround, there is no problem anymore [:D]

What you could try if it really annoys you enough to bother, is to use the recommended (free) download manager called Star Downloader. There are links to it in here, don't have it handy.

I tried Orbit, but it didn't work very well for me. Trying Star now.
