tran505 -> Nit-Picky Question on Leadership (7/28/2008 10:43:42 PM)

Just a nit-picky question someone may know the answer to. What is the right way to interpret the attack and defense ratings for leaders? Are "offense" ratings used when units are shooting, or on all shots in a battle where the force involved is the on on the attack? Similarly, are "defensive" ratings used whenever units are being shot at, or only in battles where the force involved is defending? If the ratings are applied at a "force" level, then a guy like Pope (3 attack, 1 defend) is not so bad, since Union forces are almost always initiating the attack. On the other hand, if "attack" and "defense" is means "shooting" and "being shot at", then a guy like Pope is always a liability, since his units will always take more hits in any battle (whether the force is attacking or defending). - P
