And another format that I'm playing with - SPI style. Don't like the cities and didn't change some other icons (ports, etc) from the WiF map, but this is the basic look.

The WIF style looks good.  Can you post it?  Cities look cleaner

The graphics above look to me like a 1974 board game.

Graphics need to satisfy the 1974 board wargamers gamers and the 2008 PC wargamers.

LooK to Commander Europe at War for nice map graphics.

You could also look to Avalon Hill's 1996 PC version of Rise and Decline of the Third Reich. That map is modern without being over the top.

Nice.
My vote goes to the SPI style.
Reminiscent of some of my favourite boardgames.
and is in keeping with my other GJK modded games.
-damn fine work Sir. Where do you find the time to push those pixels?

Hentzau -> RE: As World in Flames? (7/30/2008 3:52:07 AM)

The SPI set is my preference, although I'm sure there can be both. That single forrest tile for WiF looks excellent. It blends so well with the other forrest tiles that I'm fooled into thinking there is a larger variety than just the one tile.
