blastpop -> RE: Have to Ask (8/17/2008 3:16:06 AM)

Not as if we don't have a few games to play while we wait for this one... [:D]

Crocky -> RE: Have to Ask (8/17/2008 8:46:56 PM)

Keep going guys you may not hear from us often but we are here watching and waiting [:)]

Dixie -> RE: Have to Ask (8/18/2008 7:58:12 PM)

I'll add my voice to those who are happy to see you keep on steadily chipping away.  I'm looking forward to this one, it'll be worth the wait.  Or else I'll have to cry [:D]

alejes0202 -> RE: Have to Ask (8/19/2008 6:03:07 PM)

Here's another gamer who reads often and posts seldom. Keep up the good work and thank you for taking the time to get it right. Don't listen to the Negative Nellies--we, the silent majority, appreciate your effort and give thanks for your talents.

modrow -> RE: Have to Ask (8/20/2008 4:07:17 PM)

Hi there,

I just want to join the silent lurker's outing. Maybe this is actually one of the things which is most likely to speed things up... if it gets know that a lot of people have their sights on this title (which remain unseen most of the time as they look but don't post), maybe it leads to prioritization...

I check the status every few weeks and start drooling... Fortunately, it stops once I find a new WitP PBEM turn in my inbox... that game keeps me happy during the wait. But I think this one has potential as well.

Hartwig

He just forget to watch his "Six" before pulling the trigger

The following drawings are from the 'Forget Me Nots Fighters NO 13 GROUP RAF

With the following mottos

NEVER break formation to do as an individual attack. He who hunts on his own won't live long to enjoy it.
DON'T land with your wheels up after an exciting and successful combat. Some have.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Have to Ask (8/20/2008 6:50:07 PM)

Hmmm, wonder if those came from a Whirlwind squadron

samarobriva -> RE: Have to Ask (8/20/2008 7:50:45 PM)

I don't think so as the Whirlwind was a twin-engine fighter. The drawings are only showing one

Hard Sarge -> RE: Have to Ask (8/20/2008 8:19:29 PM)

I don't know, that looks more like a prop on the wing, then a MG firing ? (and if a MG, then they would of had the whole wing lite up, and each plane is shown with 2 "props", not every one should be seen as firing)

plus they are showing Props on the LW planes ?

Dixie -> RE: Have to Ask (8/21/2008 10:26:49 AM)

Probably a Spitfire squadron.  Most of the RAF cartoons of the era featured Spitfires, plus there's enough features to make me think that the a/c is a caricature of one....

Hard Sarge -> RE: Have to Ask (8/21/2008 1:13:26 PM)

yes, but look at how high up the tail plane is ? the spit is low, and the one in the corner is flying away while the rest are flying towards you, and that one also has "props" on the wings, so do not believe they are "mg" being fired

Dixie -> RE: Have to Ask (8/21/2008 1:48:05 PM)

I think the other 'planes in the top picture are probably meant to be LW bombers, rather than RAF fighters.  The RAF pilot has gone off attacking bombers on his own and been bounced by the escorts possibly.  It would be interesting to know for certain though...

samarobriva -> RE: Have to Ask (8/21/2008 9:20:33 PM)

that's correct and the 'forget me not' is NEVER break formation to do as an individual attack. He who hunts on his own won't live long to enjoy it. for the fist part of the drawing
I don't havr any exact date for the release of the book but it appears that it was in 1940 from the other drawings too.

I gotta respond to this one.

I ain't no schoolboy. I am a 37 year old IT professional. I am presently doing a Masters Degree in Information Systems Security. Our other programmer is a professional in his field, also. I'll leave it to him to describe his situation.

Okay, schoolman...

[:D] I kid. I've been where you are, sans the volunteer work putting together a marketable computer game (and believe me, if I could dedicate any time to BTR I would have volunteered to help out years ago. I don't even have time to play it right now.) Really...do people not understand that this game is being written by a couple of guys who are volunteering their time? I don't know who the third programmer is, but I do know that Harley and Hard Sarge have been working on this for...what, are we going on a decade now, all the way back to the original OOB updates? Harley, I still have your original BTR editor on my desktop. The idea that anyone should be ungrateful for all that effort is stunning. The effort may not be literally "professional" (at least, I don't think you're getting paid for it)...but suggesting it's amateurish is ridiculous.

Nice to see that that particular ignorance appears to be in the extreme minority here.

von Shagmeister -> RE: Have to Ask (8/24/2008 8:14:50 AM)

Waynno is the other programmer, him and Harley are dealing with the code.

harley -> RE: Have to Ask (8/24/2008 1:09:51 PM)

Waynn/Waynno == USS Maine on the board...
