alaviner -> help with economy Sprior stay out (8/5/2008 5:28:20 AM)

I will post more summaries. this is CHS 155 AB Map

Resources seem to be the limiting factor in CHS so here are the ones damaged in capture

n01487477 -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/5/2008 6:07:18 AM)

Screen shots would be better for me and others to see ... print screen and then paste into paint, crop and then upload ... please ...

Analysis ...
  • HI looks really good for mid '42
  • Manpower - I never have a problem here, and neither do you
  • Arm - just had a load of troops arrive or reinforce ... but need to see the LCU reinforcement screen (delay 356)
  • Veh - very low, need to see what you have building and repairing + LCU reinforcement
  • Naval - very low, show us the Ship Production screen (just building)
  • Merchant - very good, maybe we can look at turning off some production here.

Overall, I'm optimistic, because of HI ... but additional info is needed in particular your resource, supply and Oil situation .

Post again and I'll see if I can give you some more pointers.

  • n01487477 -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/5/2008 6:27:29 AM)

Ok posted after you posted some more screens ... also I notice you are using an old version of Tracker, upgrade to the new version when you get a chance .. it's worth the effort!

  • The limiting factor is not your Resources, but your HI & your Oil production.

    HI = 13174
    Oil= 2520 * 6 = can sustain 15120 HI --- >
  • this is the real limit!
    Res = 16434 *1.25 = can sustain 20K HI

  • As you can see, you have both OIL and RES Cntr adequate for your HI at present.

HI use - (this is shown better in the new version)
    Arm 503 * 6 = 3000
    Veh 105 * 6 = 600
    Navy 1239 * 3 = 3700
    Merch 1005 *3 = 3000
    a/c approx (total/30)*18 per engine = 573
    + engines = (total/30)*18 = 950

So ... approx SUB TOTAL = 11800 So surplus per turn approx 1000 HI (or about 10% of consumption)
The accumulated HI now stands at about 10 days full supply, continue on this path, by 43/44 you may need this surplus when transportation becomes more problematic.

  • So you are using less HI than you are producing ... a very good thing. Remember though, if you don't have enough arm/veh then the game engine overrides (IMO) and uses more HI. Also it varies because different days different amt of engines and a/c are produced.

  • Depending on your supply situation, you need to start building some more Vehicle plants and additionally some more HI. And maybe some more Arm ... later.

I'd build HI at small HI facilities, which tend to hold supplies above 10K. So go through Japanese Bases first looking for small HI, 40 and below and start to build them up over the next few months. Armament is more critical right now, but remember every Arm factory (and HI) you build will cost initial supplies and HI ... and then 1000 supplies per increase. And it will cost 6 HI/factory. Do multiple areas, because then you are increasing HI quickly. Factories can only increase by +1 per day.
  • It make sense to build in 5-10 places to get an increase of that amt per day (if you have the supplies), same goes for arm and veh.

If you need to hold more supplies at places, move HQ's and planes and surplus units there.

I guess lastly, you never stated a specific problem, but I think you are doing ok ... but you need to start to plan for the future soon.

    [edit]
  • HI can also be captured, but I guess by now you are close to taking most of the HI available in the SRA/China/Burma area.
  • How is your supply situation as well as the transportation of OIL/Resources?
  • Are you reinforcing all LCU units or just turning them off and on ?
  • To determine how much arm/veh are needed check out your yearly consumption + reinforcements needed and make sure you have enough arm /veh to produce that !
  • Also you may need to prioritise your ship building a bit and you could turn off some more Merchant building capacity ... how did you ever get so many points ?
  • If you are having a supply crisis back home, then import from Manchuria/Korea.
  • lastly, tweak you engine and a/c production, to maximise your efficiency.
  • And I notice that your ship Repair facilities are a bit small ... you will need plenty, if not now, then later.

  • n01487477 -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/5/2008 7:20:12 AM)

Apart from editing my previous post, I noticed your engine pools ... Move some Mitsubishi to Nakajima production (depending on what a/c you will produce later) or expand these. Although you have 4mth surplus, and will probably have repaired enough by then ... I'm not familiar with CHS, and its aircraft, so maybe someone else can comment on that side of the equation.

  • HI can also be captured, but I guess by now you are close to taking most of the HI available in the SRA/China/Burma area. I have SRA, Malaya, PI about to push on Mandalay as Sprior move all the SEAC chinese there before I could take it and needed to build forces
  • How is your supply situation as well as the transportation of OIL/Resources? Oil has been moved well - had to use some TKs to push fuel to keep the Navy on the offensive. Resources are moving well now - working the triangle
  • Are you reinforcing all LCU units or just turning them off and on ? Turning off and on - Vehicles are low due trying to fill out my Tank units, but I will increase production and turn off since 1st Tank Div arrives in 4 months.

  • And I notice that your ship Repair facilities are a bit small ... you will need plenty, if not now, then later. This was my next priority to expand

  • n01487477 -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/6/2008 2:28:00 AM)

    NCUSFOREST,
I can see why you are low on points with Naval, and once Yamato arrives you will be back in the black. I'd accelerate some more of those merchants, might as well you have a huge surplus. It's not costing you anything except accumulated pts. I still don;t understand how you got all those points ???

Lcu's - actually you are doing better than I feared, your on map reinforcement needs are relatively low, but you are right you need to expand those Veh plants and then accumulate some points to ensure you get them at 100% strength..

Get the new version and it will give you some better info or you could wait for the new release in a few weeks (we hope).

Cheers and good luck ... if you need more specific help let me know. Also maybe read JohnIII's AAR verse Canoerebel from about page 18 onward for some other Tracker and economic help.

alaviner -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/6/2008 4:23:36 AM)

Thanks again Damian. I think those merch points accumulated early on when I did not accelerate many merchies.
I am about to kick off two offensives in the next few days. One aimed at suva (five good SNLFs) the other at perth(1Div, 1mixed Reg, 2 SNLF, 2 Para btn will be used to cut off reinforcments and supplies).  My over all goal is to capture OZ by Dec 42.  I save early PPs to extract two good Divs and support from Korea.  I inserted these in Darwin and pushed south to draw reiforcements from the eastcoast.  I am prepping 4 Divs and support at Manila for the townsville invasion.  The USN has pretty much Sir Robined as best I can tell CVs are at Pearl or West Coast.

  • Damian, don't forget that you use 10 resources per manpower point per day. That's an additional 7620 resources per day for the manpower, and you can't turn it off. I'd say the limiting factor is resources. I'd recommend that as many resources be repaired as possible. I think the reason for the current increase in HI is that things are turned off. You're showing the costs with everything on.

alaviner -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/6/2008 5:44:17 PM)

I guess I will ship supplies to Batavia to start repairs there - took the biggest hit in capture. Are engineers needed for repairs??

n01487477 -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/6/2008 6:09:03 PM)

    Mike,
yes stupid me I forgot completely about Manpower Centres ... NCSUFOREST, no you don;t need engineers just the supplies ...

    BUT

I believe my figures are correct, if you look at the tracker stuff, you can see they are turned on, not off ... and the game summary says the same ... he is below full production ...

  • so stop repairing any new Manpower
  • As Mike says repair those Res Cntrs
  • new limit for HI is 20752(with res repaired)-7620 = 13132 HI --> damn CHS is tough!
  • you know what to do, capture some ... go Nth, Sth, East and West young man! The world is your oyster [;)]

    Damian
[edit] although it is 2 am here and I'm fighting to stay awake! Anyway thanks Mike for keeping me on the straight and narrow ... and if I've made additional mistakes then I blame it on the "sunshine, moonlight ... good times & boogie" ...

  • n01487477 -> RE: help with economy Sprior stay out (8/6/2008 6:31:17 PM)

I edited the previous post ... but that's why I like the WITPchart ... from Apollo ... can't forget and make stupid mistakes!
