I think it could be T-72A as well.

T-62 and T-72 resemble each other pretty much and that tank is so wasted that it is hard to tell which one is it. Both T-72 and T-62 are being used in the conflict on both sides.

I can't find any source that states Georgia has T-62's, while many state they have T-72's that were modernized via U.S. foreign aid.

will the US now supply new tanks to georgia, maybe some at missiles as well? maybe some second hand abrams going cheep? NZAF turned down a few dozen f16's,there still sitting in the bone yard, perfectly servisable...help keep the ruskies at bay next time...

The turret looks too high a profile for a T-72, but I am used to seeing the T-72 with the ERA. I have seen photos from the combat zone with T-72 armor with the ERA blown right off the turret.

Georgia does use the T-72BV and T-72 SIM1 with explosive reactive armor tiles.

Georgia received a total of 70 T-72 tanks from the Czech Republic in 2005 and 2006. They may have a dozen more from before that.

The former Soviet Republic of Georgia had over 100 T-62's in its armed forces inventory. I don't know what they did with those.

I wonder if the loader system took a hit on the near tank.

Here is a close photo of that tank damage:

Here's some good all round view U tube film of a T 64.

Although there may have been a few T 64s in that video, most of those tanks are T-72's. The snorkeling stowage position, the splash guard, and the location of the spotlight are all good indications those are T-72's. I would say that the title of that clip is a little misleading. The still photo at the start titled T-64A sure looks like a 72 to me. I guess you can't trust U-Tube.
If there are any Warsaw Pact uniform experts around, perhaps they could ID those soldiers lolly- gagging around. Perhaps they are not Russian.
