BoredStiff -> How do I get my name out of my computer? (8/22/2008 5:37:27 AM)

Sorry for the oblique question, here's what I mean:
In my Documents and Settings folder, there is a folder with my first name. How do I rename this folder? There's the usual Rename option when right-clicking on the folder, but when I actually try to rename it, an error message appears that says the folder name cannot be changed because it is a Windows systems folder that is required for Windows to run properly and that it cannot be moved or renamed.

So, is there any way to change the name of this folder? Changing the name on my user account does not help.
Also, how did my name get to be used in the first place? Was this part of the Windows install by the folks who built my computer? I don't remember ever doing this in the past when I did my own Windows installations.

Yup - during installation of XP or Vista it asks for a name - that's the one which is used.

Solutions

1) Drop the issue (recommended)
2) Re-install Windows

"Drop the issue" is sound advice.

Minor cosmetic issues rarely bother me.

But I'm 3/4 Irish and most things like this don't phase me.

Anyone 3/4 Irish is also usually too drunk to notice minor cosmetic issues [:D]

Not to confirm a sterotype, but at times this may have applied to me, if I could only remember...[&:][&:][&:]
