ILCK -> Leaving GOA Error (8/26/2008 2:48:27 AM)

I've got a game that rolls off the September 1917 turn and I get a "Leaving Guns of August" dialog box and there's nothing to do but click and the game progress is lost.

The TE has control of a line from Denmark to Prague so I'm not sure if the leaving part is just the Germans surrendering but there's no end of game type wrap up.

Curious if anyone has seen this sort of error.

Does the problem repeat? If so, please send the saved game to me at fhunter@telus.net

If its simply Germany surrendering you should see a Victory screen.

This has happened again, on another machine and with another saved game. Has anyone else seen this before where the game just decides that you are done?

I've sent this save on to Frank for bug hunting.

Germany was surrendering and the game was ending in a decisive victory but you weren't getting the final victory screen.

Thanks, but it is so unsatisfying to not see the final capitulation. :)

I've encountered the same phenomenon playing as the T-E: it's mid-1916, the Russians are along their original start line, the British have taken Damascus and are at the gates of Hamburg, the French have taken Hanover and Munich and are outside Magdeburg.

My last look at the scoreboard says that Germany's resolve level was "weak".

After giving my orders, I hit the arrow to "proceed", and I get the "Leaving Guns of August" message.

Can someone confirm that "Leaving GoA" message means victory?

Thanks,

If you're using 1.23 and you're getting that behaviour it means the game is over. In 1.24 you should be getting the victory screen.
