dreamtheatervt -> DTVT's Spread Offense - 335 Defense (9/5/2008 5:05:58 AM)
|
While I'm not certain this will be the complete playbook, I have decided to release the spread/335 playbook I've been working intermittently over the past 3 months. These plays are VERY different from my original Pro/43 book (found here). The offense has multiple 3 WR, 1 RB, 1 TE formations, one 3 WR, 2 RB formation, and one 4 WR, 1 RB formation. The HB is the primary ballcarrier, but a mobile QB gives a wicked 1-2 punch by providing counter-sweep keeps and QB run reads. The passing game will provide a defensive coodinator fits by using clusters and rubs to break apart pass defense. The defense is organized in a "dial up a blitz" method. Defenses are organized by the number of "attackers". Whereas my 43 defense was very much a read-scrape-close the angle defense, the 335 is all about stunting blitzes, overloads, and bringing it from all angles and directions. It is designed to create more negative plays, which also allows more big plays. In real life, the 335 is used by undersized teams that rely more on pressure and creating confusion than having superior playmakers. I've played several games with it, and the offense and defense work pretty much as I want them to. I have made a profile for this series (see post below), and my custom special teams plays are included. Without further ado, I present DTVT's Spread-335 playbook Sample play diagrams will follow.
