I have both games, much prefer Kharkov to Battlefront even if it currently only has one scenario.

After reading from the link that Chris posted above, I can see why. Big improvements have been made. Now I may never play Battlefront again! [X(]

I'm real close to buying it now...

Unfortunately, me too!!!

AOs are fantastic. I like the idea of being restricted.

Judge;

Given the attention and interest span that you and I both have (bored too easily), do you see playing this game very much? [&:]

JudgeDredd -> RE: There is a problem... (9/22/2008 10:33:31 PM)

Just wrote about it...and yes I do.

I'm finding it very difficult, but as I said in my other thread, I'm not the best player in the world...so you will have to take my appraisal with a big pinch of salt.

I like the engine very much. Hopefully more scenarios will come along and, as of right now, I'm a fan of the engine and look forward to the next game in the series.

Tis true I have a short attention span...but I can honestly say I can get my monies worth out of this one.

LarryP -> RE: There is a problem... (9/22/2008 10:52:48 PM)

Good. I usually get my monies worth by going back to the game several times over a long period of time. Seldom do I play one for weeks without getting bored and going to another.

I want to buy this one, but with all that's being said about the economy right now (AIG, Fannie Mae, etc.), I feel kind of guilty charging games. Dang economy junk! Teach me to read the news... [:@]

Be interesting to see how things develop, I don't think you will be the only one making or thinking these types of comments for the next couple of years [:(]

Yeah and it stinks! [;)] What we have been hearing on the news says to not buy anything you really don't have to have in the next two years. That's a wide open statement though... lets see... what do I really need... food, clothes, utilities, and games! [;)]

JudgeDredd -> RE: There is a problem... (9/23/2008 8:01:21 AM)

We're actually getting different advice..they do not want the economy to slow down...so they are trying to persuade people things will be fine...don't worry...

Although it is true, credit is not being promoted as a good thing.

Luckily the only debt I have is a mortgage and whilst that's a biggie, I know other people who are creditised to the hilt...holidays, cars...dining out. Also, my mortgage should ride out the house price drops...it's valued over twice what I paid for it 10 years ago

It doesn't sound like there is anyone out there that has both games?

Ditto here. Kharkov is superior in AI and game mechanics. I've only played it twice so far, once each as Axis or Allies against the AI. Whupped the AI massively both times (set at Computer+), a 2900+ win as the Axis, a similar margin as the Allies. Even at that, the AI is far nastier and less prone to big goofs than in BF. After I finish a hotseat game playing both sides, I'll be craving more scenarios. I can understand wanting to push it out the door ASAP, but now it's time to regroup and get more scenarios into play.
