Tha's just crazy :]
Is there any way to turn off this option?

Only variable visibility, the changing of the range of line of sight, is optional. [8D]

I know that :)
But I'm looking for some other options - like changing sth in files, or using older files ;] In other words - which file I must delete/change in order to get rid of invisible at guns?

Personally, I like the new ATG rules but I can understand why others wouldn't. But to answer your question, I believe the changes are in the platoon.obx files. Here's 2 lines from platoon.oob file for a German 37mm ATG:

P01107 3 0 3 40 50 25 8 3 0 2 0 0 10 0 1 0 57 P01107 2 2 4 2048 4 12 30 1 53 12 0 0 0 Pak 35/36 37mm Anti-Tank Guns , 37mm Pak 35/36 ,

P01107 3 0 3 40 50 25 8 3 0 2 0 0 10 0 1 0 57 P01107 2 2 4 0 4 12 39 9 45 5 0 0 0 Pak 35/36 37mm Anti-Tank Guns , 37mm AT Guns ,

The first line is from V1.04, 2nd line is from V1.02 (before hidden ATGs). It is my belief that the value 2048 is what gives the ATG the ability to remain hidden. Some units, like snipers and patrol/scouts have the value 1024 in the same column.

Assuming I'm correct (and that's a big assumption[:-]), let's go on to how to fix it. If you play against humans, there's not a lot you can do. Because your opponent would be using his files for his turn and he probably wants to keep his ATG hidden. But if you play only against the AI, you can go through each platoon.oob file you want changed, change the value in the correct column for each offending unit, then send the file(s) to Jason for encryption. Then, after receiving the encrypted files, you would need to replace the old files. If that sounds like a lot of work, that's because it is. I think if I were you, I'd get used to hidden ATGs. [;)]

But always make back-ups before you do any modding. And you should get confirmation from Jason about the 2048/1024 values thing before doing any changing. Lots of luck.

cw58: Good job on searching out that info!!! I'd like to know if anyone who made that change actually was successful at eliminating the invisible anti-tank guns. A shame Matrix didn't make that "feature" a selectable option.
