HMSWarspite -> Hey - why has the input to the forum slowed? (4/21/2002 3:44:25 PM)

The updates to the AAR's have slowed. Where's the witty and educated discussions on the correct fueling rate for Yamamoto's personal motor scooter? Why can't I start a poll too. Oh - I can!

I don't know about you but I think it should be regarded as a severe crime against humanity if the AAR authors let their personal life get in the way of posting updates on this forum.

It's like denying an addict (caffeine of course:) ) his fix...

Because we're bored of living vicariously through the experiences of others...WE WANT OUR UV!!!!

LargeSlowTarget -> I have a cunning plan, My Lord (4/21/2002 6:29:12 PM)

Your signature reminded me of something - I'm busy watching Black Adder :).

Snigbert -> (4/21/2002 9:06:59 PM)

Just FYI, and no, this isn't a sick joke...

I actually found out Thursday evening (18th?) that I have a tumor in my lower back and I have to have surgery for very quickly. May or may not be cancer. But the reason my AARs haven't been updated as frequently is because my Significant Other isn't letting me play as much as I'd like :)

Sonny -> (4/21/2002 9:39:10 PM)

Because Mogami has posted all there is to know about the actual South Pacific Campaign and now we are waiting for the game?:D

No that's not it.

Because we are tired of reading how great the game is and how much we'll like it, but not about how soon we'll get to like (own/play) it?:D

rhohltjr -> This one fits. (4/21/2002 10:12:46 PM)

Perhaps some have grown tired of reading and drooling and would now prefer to partake in our own games.

Y ou know what I think? It's that hushed sense of anticipation you always get just seconds before a great, fantastic, world-beating event takes place. Now I wonder what could be about to happen any minute................please!!

Sorry to hear about that. I will keep you in my prayers. I hope that it turns out to be benign.

But you have actually been posting. It's Iain who has suddenly disappeared.

"I wonder what could be about to happen any minute"

(The sound of throbbing drums, muted in the background)...the crowd (carrying ropes and burning torches, the odd pitchfork), its numbers swelling, is grimly marching along, chanting quietly at first, but slowly gaining in intensity; "UV! UV! UuuuuuuuuuV!".

David Heath (terror written on his face) is frantically piling office furniture in front of the doors, calling over his shoulder; "Gary, GARY, I can see them...they're coming! They're coming NOW! For Christs sake HURRY!!!". Gary Grigsby (surrounded by mounds of empty Mountain Dew bottles and McDonalds wrappers) is hunched over his workstation, sweat beading his haggard brow, dark circles under his eyes, feverishly punching in code with shaking hands; "Yeah, yeah, well, I've ALMOST got the AI PERFECT!". Joel Billings, wringing his hands, whines; "I KNEW it'd come to this! I TOLD you guys! You shoulda just given'em what they wanted, but Nooooooo.". Play testers; "Um, well, like, mail us the final CD, but, like, err, LATER DUDES!" as they bolt out the back.

...It's not a pretty picture.

mogami -> Matrix Patrol (4/22/2002 3:00:48 AM)

In the nick of time the Matrix patrol arrives to hold off the angry crowd. "Back you curs, back or we'll let you have it"

Sonny -> (4/22/2002 6:05:07 AM)

I thought that was a picture of the development team!!:D

Iain's wife was thoughtless enough to go and severly sprain her ankle last Wednesday. :rolleyes:

This has meant that he has been dealing with:
a. and non-ambulatory wife
b. A very ambulatory 3 yr old daughter

Storming the beach at Luganville might have been less exciting!

Actually, the fact of the matter is that the my campaign kind of hit a climax with the last naval battle and it just isn't that exciting right now. I have played another couple of weeks, just haven't had a chance to write up the AAR.

Also, as with the rest of the team, David has been cracking the whip on to get WITP moving so I have been spending some time on that as well.

Sonny -> (4/23/2002 6:18:59 AM)

Good, WitP is gonna be great if the AI can handle such a large strategic theater. So get to it!:D
