I found the original SP by accident on the back of another game disk (Great Naval battles4?) a number of years ago and was hooked thereafter. I ended up buying SP2, the expansion, and SP3. When I upgraded to a new computer I suddenly found that I could no longer play, super-fast mouse scrolling and no windows support caused gameplay to be a headache. I finally gave up.
Just this week I happened to find a link to Steel Panthers WaW, I didn't know what it was but the name sounded familiar. Needless to say I was very impressed with all the changes and upgrades!I actually downloaded the thing over the course of a few days with my 56k at 2kb/sec..It was definately worth it to try an old favorite in some new duds. I am curious about how Matrix got the rights to supe-up and then release SP. Are you a breakaway group from SSI ? Forgive me if this was in the doc's somewhere but Iv'e been eager to get in some playing time again. What are the plans for WaW, anymore patches/upgrades ? I know I'll be looking for Modern Warfare whenever that's completed also. Great fun.
