KAM -> Direct Draw Error (10/11/2000 4:46:00 PM)

Hi All, I am unable to run SPAW. After I attempt to quit the introductory video by pressing the Escape or Spacebar keys I get the following message: "DirectDraw Initialization Error # 2147467259" The program then quits. Any help or advice would be really appreciated. KAM.

Hello. This has been discussed earlier, you might want to do a search. From memory, the game doesn't like your display card. installing the latest video card drivers and latest DirectX might help. Also you can try reduce the the hardware acceleration from control panel -> display -> settings -> adv. properties -> performance. Voriax ------------------ OOB-Wan Kenobi

Thanks for replying. I searched and found the old post. He had exactly the same problem. 3DFX Voodoo 3 card, latest version of direct x and latest voodoo drivers. His problem was unsolved. Has anybody managed to get SPWAW running with the Voodoo 3? KAM

I have the voodoo 3 with the latest drivers from their site,direcx7 loaded. Installed spwaw 3.0 from the pcgamer disk, upgraded to 4.0 from matrix and the screen does flicker when i hit the space bar but goes on to the main menu. Don

Downloaded latest Voodoo 3 driver (July 2000) and the program now works. :-) Many, many thanks to all who helped me get up and running. Thanks also for a great game. KAM
