Azar -> Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/8/2008 10:19:26 PM)

I just installed the game. Whenever I click on the "Play" button on the launcher menu the game doesn't start but instead gives me this error message, "JAZZ Project Exception". I'm also posting a screenshot of this error window.

I'm also including the DxDiag file.

Hi Azar,

Both your video and audio drivers are from 2005, please update those to the latest. Of more concern is that your video card is an integrated one. I think that will work if you have the latest drivers, but if it doesn't support enough of the DirectX 9 functionality, you may need to use something like 3D Analyzer to simulate the missing functions before the game will be happy.

Regards,

- Erik

Ok, I'll try 3D Analyzer and see if it works. If it doesn't then I guess I'm gonna HAVE TO upgrade my computer...grrr

milkweg -> RE: Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/9/2008 1:16:14 AM)

When Windows7 comes out and in conjunction with an I7 cpu you could run the game without a video card installed even. It would run much slower than with a video card installed but it can run fully 3D accelerated games just using one of the cores of the I7 cpu.

Azar -> RE: Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/9/2008 1:45:17 AM)

That's great news, in that case I'll see which option squeezes my wallet less, going for I7 with Windows 7 or upgrading to a current gaming level computer. Too bad these kind of games don't come out on consoles, even when every once in a while they do, they turn out like either Fallout BOS, or more recently Fallout 3.

sobibor -> RE: Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/10/2008 4:30:42 PM)

Same problem.

I try 3D analyzer but I need to find the exe file. I locate "game.exe" on bin folder, I select it and run with 3D analyzer but then I got an error message saying the serial number is invalid.

Any help?

Erik Rutins -> RE: Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/10/2008 9:40:21 PM)

Hi Sobibor,

Could you post a DxDiag file for us please? Game.exe is the right file, but it sounds like 3D Analyzer or soemthing else is interfering with the serial number check. I'm not sure how you've got it configured, but have you made sure it's still being run with the right path so that it knows where all the other game files are?

Regards,

- Erik

Sorry, where can I find this dxdiag file?

Terl -> RE: Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/12/2008 6:38:08 PM)

Go  to http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1971026 and follow the directions there (it is at the top of this tech support forum).

Hello,

I have the same problem as Azar. I have an Compaq nx 7300 laptop (core 2, 2gb ram). I have already read the hole article, and freshed my drivers too, but the problem still the same. I think my videocard is the weakest point wich is an Intel Express 945 Chipset family. It has 8-224 mb ram from the laptop main memory, so the game cant use it.

So I cant play. If you have any idea please tell me.

THX

JH

You may wish to try updating your graphics drivers. noticed there are newer ones on the ATI site.. I am not sure that the 9250 is a good enough card to run the game. Is the card direct X 9.0c ready? I dd a bit of quick searches in Google and notice much difficulty with direct x 9.0c. Your card does not even meet the specs indicated on the product page for the game.

From the product page:
Video: 256 Ìb 3D, NVidia GeForce 6600GT / ATi Radeon X1600Pro or higher

Erik Rutins -> RE: Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/15/2008 2:21:45 PM)

Sobibor,

Your card is definitely an old one. Of equal concern is that your video drivers are from 2006 and your sound drivers are from 2003! Please update both and see if that helps, it's a necessary step.

Regards,

- Erik

Erik, Terl, thank you very much. I´ll try to update. If doesn't work I will have to wait to my new PC [:(]

So I have ried the 3danalyzer, but it doesnt work. If I start the main program (autorun.exe) from the directory and I click on the play button - nothing happens. I tried the game.exe from bin directory, but I got an Invalid serial number attention. SO the game wont work. I need your help. THX.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Can't even launch the game (details inside) (12/19/2008 9:06:14 PM)

Hi JH,

Unfortunately, your DxDiag confirms that you have an integrated video chipset which is below the game's minimum requirements. It's very important to be aware of what hardware you have and whether it meets the requirements or not. I will ask the serial system developer if there's any way we can get 3D Analyzer to work without generating that error. Unfortunately, we are entering our holiday hours and I can't guarantee anything until January.

Regards,

- Erik
