darthsmaul -> small scenarios good for a newbie? (12/11/2008 2:39:12 PM)

played the tutorial, are there some other non tutorial scenarios that are probably small enough to get to understand some of the advanced phases of the game without being overwhelmed by a ton of units?

thanks in advance.

Steve

You can try "Forgotten Battles - Komarow 1914" - well balanced scenario with some random options making the PO more challenging. No more then 80 fighting units per side.

Thanks

any scenarios with a few like the tutorials or are all OAOWIII scenarios pretty much huge?

also prefer WWII cuz I understand tactics a little better (or units etc..) but open to any.

The British invasion of Italian East Africa scenario.... is a good one for new players because there are only a small number of units. Also, another small one is the Singapore scenario. I used these two when I was first starting.

If you go to Rugged Defense.... they have almost all of the TOAW3 scenarios listed and, they are rated for complexity based on number of units and number of turns and that gives you a feel for how big the scenario is.

Also, another player recently posted a spread sheet listing all the scenarios and their complexity. Should not be too difficult to find... probably in the 20 most recent threads.

Here's the link to the spread sheets:

Road to Rimini, Two weeks in Normandy, Kharkov 42 should play well against the PO.
