alexbraila -> Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/11/2008 7:46:14 PM)

At the begining of day 4, I get an email stating that there is a strike at the mine and the miners refuse to work while the war is going on. The base income for the mine is zero (the upgrades still work, although the total income from facilities is less than it should be). There is a journal entry mentioning that I need to personally go there. I tried doing so, but to no effect. There is a group of people in the middle, but I am unable to talk to them. Other than that, I could not find any person on the map, so I am unable to solve this issue. Has anyone else faced it ? And if yes, what is the solution ?

R@S -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/11/2008 8:21:49 PM)

You can talk to one of the miners standing in a ring at the bottom of the quarry. He has the same tag as the others but he will respond when talked to.

CowGod -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/13/2008 12:20:19 AM)

i talked to the one in the middle and agreed with him about the wages. then let a day go by and you get income back.

Thanks R@S and CowGod, I managed to do it.

Sethik -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/14/2008 4:58:34 AM)

I've tried talkin to all 6 miners but no one responds. Am I missing something?

Edit: Apparently killing all the miners brings back the income, but now its at 18000 instead of 20000.

well, the new works don't know what they are doing yet

LOL, I wondered about that when it was first posted, you got to kind of brave to go on strike to a bunch of Merks

ShadoWarrior -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/14/2008 11:55:28 AM)

Foolishly brave, perhaps, though just plain dumb seems more like it.

SlickWilhelm -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/20/2008 2:34:38 PM)

Are you saying the solution to this is to kill all the striking miners?

Hard Sarge -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/20/2008 2:50:49 PM)

?

talk to the leader of the strikers, you get a list of options, one of them is to agree to there demands, or the other is to kill the leader, others, they don't seem to like the one where you offer to give them the mine later on

Reinforce -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/20/2008 6:46:31 PM)

So do the other options even work? Both the red and the blue ones give me the same final options of think it over or shoot the Strike leader. I've tried with afew differant mercs and it always ends the same.. No way to keep my 20k a day and not have to kill an unarmed Civie?

flankspeed -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/21/2008 5:19:25 AM)

For the red (strength) option use Bizon with his 100 strength to talk to him. Then the strike leader will cave and you will get to keep you 20k.

Reinforce -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/21/2008 12:52:17 PM)

I will have to try that on my next play threw. I just got mad after all the colored options not working so I shot the guy. Problem I have now is the mine seems to be giveing up less and less money every day. So it seems shooting the strike leader has a large impact. Anyone take the buy out option? I would like to know how much the 1/3 is and if that stays stable... if so it would always be better to eather talk it out or give in as shooting seems to lead to less and less money. *sign* Stealing diamonds from a women. one thing is, I think if you buy to improve the mine, you lose that, so think the 1/3 is the off the base cost

ahhh, maybe not, it shows the base money was 20,000 and a 4200 bonus

dealing with the strikers, you get 14,000 and a 4200 bonus

so, I was getting 24200 before the strike, and 18200 after settling it

didn't buy the other branch bonus yet

Reinforce -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/21/2008 2:49:38 PM)

My mines been fully upgraded I'm on day 21 now.. I know long time but I'm a slow upgrade happy player. My mines base income is 2000 now with 9500 in extras from the upgrades. When I got it the base income was 20k. I haven't taken the port yet, Wonder if that will raise the base income from the Mine.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/21/2008 3:13:45 PM)

you got the airport ? from the emails, it says you need a way to get the stuff out, the port being one and the airport the other ?

(it maybe the programming, they trying to force you to settle the stike simi peaceful, either bully or give in, killing the works is not a good thing :)

Reinforce -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/21/2008 4:19:08 PM)

Just took the airport afew game days ago. Mines now sitting at 0 base income. So if the Port dosn't start bringing that up I strongly suggest to everyone who has miner problems not to shoot the strike leader, It really hurts the pocket book.

Reinforce

Koloret -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/21/2008 6:08:01 PM)

if you get the diplomat answer the 1/3 means you constantly get 17000 per day without count with upgrades and the airport and the port does nothing about the income of the mine

Koloret -> RE: Miners' strike - unable to solve it (12/21/2008 7:59:53 PM)

sorry not 17k but 14k yes
