From The Simpson's?  Wasn't Robot Abe Lincoln a rapping part of the President's exhibit at Springfield's Duff Gardens?

Don't remember, but if it was, it's a terrific reference from one classic show to another...
I'll give you another clue:

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrghhhhh!!! - slam-bonk-dom-di-dom-bang-boom-slam-slam-gong - aaaaaaarrrrghhh...!!!"

That should make it pretty obvious... [:D]

Another good effort! But no...
You have to move slightly away from the cartoons and into something a little more tangible... but just as crazy!

The U.S. House of Representatives?

So close, now - sooo close...! [:D]

jkBluesman -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (2/24/2009 8:05:26 AM)

Was it an old superhero show like Batman?

moose1999 -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (2/24/2009 2:41:18 PM)

Good guess - the sound effects could have been from one of the old Batman shows (Kapow-wiing-slabam-chok-wham), but no.

One last clue:
It's formally a children's show (but a quite mature one) and here is a very revealing quote from one of the stars (and my favorite character) of the show - a real classic and a dead give-away to any fan of the show:

"I shall now eat a rubber tire to the music of The Flight of the Bumblebee..."

This dare-devil character, whose signature acts include catching cannonballs and reciting Shakespeare while hanging by his nose from a feather boa nine-feet in the air, also has a serious chicken-fetish...

habakuk -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/3/2009 2:37:25 PM)

Any news about the patch, now that CoG:EE has been released?

I'm looking forward to starting a new game! [:D]

Gil R. -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/3/2009 5:16:21 PM)

Looks like sometime this week Eric will FINALLY have time to work on that WTF bug. Fortunately, COG:EE itself has no serious bugs that would vie for time. We'll keep you posted.

September to March and still counting.

Good Hunting.

With a new, great, revenue generating game thrown in...

GenChaos33 -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/5/2009 3:54:30 AM)

Will this patch have the zoom in/out function for the strat map and detail battle map?

Edit: NM - found zoooooom thread

No, with exactly the same game/strategy killing bugs still in place.

Good Hunting.

I'm willing to see. Show me where the patch is that fixes either the National Will bug or the PBEM combat selection bug for sieges...or am I not the one that's blind? [&:] [8D] [:D]

I could care less whether you can zoom in on tactical battles or not. I do care that the National Will bug destroys most viable strategies for the game.

Good Hunting.

Just to make sure it is clear, I was referring to the release of CoGEE, "a new, great, revenue generating game thrown in..."

I know there isn't a new patch yet for FoF and I;m looking forward to it being released as well.

Eric spent a good chunk of the day working on the patch, so tomorrow we should be able to start testing the newest bug fix. This is called progress!

Bulldog1 -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/14/2009 3:46:05 AM)

Good, cause i just purchased FOF because of all the positive comments with COG EE. I will cut my teeth on the ole USA..

Kung Karl -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/22/2009 4:50:22 PM)

How is the patch coming along? Can we excpect a release soon? I am waiting to start a new game until the patch arrive.

Gil R. -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/23/2009 5:17:36 AM)

It's looking like that WTF bug is fixed, but we need to test this patch for a bit longer.

Something I really like about COG II is that the garrisons are standard and not random anymore! Can we add this to FOF!? [:)]

Gil R. -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/28/2009 5:56:21 PM)

What would you suggest?

To my knowledge, these garrisons weren't especially notable units. In some cases, we might know which regiments or brigades were posted to particular cities or forts, but a lot of that info would be quite hard to find.

Just have one garrison in each city or fort. 3 in the capital. That is how it is in COGEE now. No more 2 or 3 or 4 garrisons scattered around randomly that is different with every game...Makes you want to restart to get better results...

Gil R. -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/31/2009 1:20:20 AM)

I've never heard of someone restarting for that reason, but I guess it makes sense.

You should add the idea of fixed garrisons to the Wish List. I can say, though, that we're unlikely to change it anytime soon, simply because there are so many other ideas we'd like to implement.

2ndACR -> RE: Version 1.10.12 (3/31/2009 4:40:10 AM)

Well, I have done the restarts just to see how many extra troops I can get........my personal record is 15 extra brigades worth of troops........that is just messing around and such. My average is 10-12.
