KingHunter3059 -> 1.06 Crash and Game ERROR (12/24/2008 3:19:18 PM)

I suppose that is the best description. If I start a game or load a game the game runs smooth for about 1 minute - then as I am in moving a unit, the game shuts down, closes with no warning - It is frustrating. I tried the 1.06 Hotpatch found in GameSpot - It fixes it but slows down the screen movement to snail speed. Is there any hope that this could be fixed in the near future? BTW - I do love the game (Just won as the Germans from 39 onward! )

Eureka! I found the answer! the folks at Slitherine have a BETA patch 1.07, this fixed my issue!

[;)] Not quite as good as I hoped, I have the slitherine version of the game, but that patch did work great!

I've always had awful computer crashes while playing the demo for CEaW, or whatever memory stack dumps are? Would have probably picked the title up otherwise. Wonder if this is some known issue, or is this maybe fixed already? Is there going to be an updated demo? Read something official over at Slitherine saying that the Digital River stuff was causing issues, would that have been the demo too? (Doubtful since the demo came from Slitherine.)

Edit: The demo I tried was 1.06, don't have issues with other games.

Yea Hentzau -

I think you are right, it seems tied to a Windows update issue.
