FM WarB -> JsGME question (12/27/2008 10:26:18 PM)

Where does it need to be installed?

Put it in your different directories, say C:\Program Files\John Tillers Campaign Series\Matrix Games\East Front. Then dbl-click the JSGME.exe and it will make a MODS folder with a Backup folder within. You then make a folder for each and every mod you want to use inside the MODS folder itself. Each time you want to use a mod, dbl-clk on JSGME, pick what mod you want from the left pane, then enable selected into the right side, voila!! You can exit out of JSGME after you enable the mod and play the game normally. Let me know how you make out?

Mike,
Thanks,,,so I need seperate JSGME in WF, EF, Pacific (if I play that). Do I need it in the Main folder for any mods that pply to all games?

Warhorse -> RE: JsGME question (12/28/2008 1:14:44 AM)

No problem.. Yes, an install for each game is a good idea. As for one in the main folder, not a bad idea, just beware if the mod in the main folder has an exe, when you use one of the installs within one of the seperate directories, if one of those has an exe also, it will overwrite the one in the main. This program is very convenient, and eliminates any chance of accidental overwriting while editing files, love it!

Have fun!

Mike

What is this and what does it do?

Hi Martin,

It's a mod swapping program, that easily swaps out files you might edit, eliminating manual swapping, or even worse, accidently overwriting a file!! I use it constantly, definitely recommend it to anyone who tinkers with files.

Thanks Warhouse.

Next question is where can I obtain the said JsGME and does it come with instructions of how to use it?

I assume that if mods become available to download one can use the program to install these and then put back the original version. It works a version control application?

Thanks,

Martin Heard
