M4Jess -> Question (5/4/2002 10:14:57 AM)

Which Campaign would you like to see?

Kohima-Imphal (as Brits)

-or-

Merrill's Marauder (as US)

M4

Mojo -> (5/4/2002 10:22:34 AM)

Merrill please.

WhiteRook -> (5/4/2002 10:40:56 AM)

I would be happy with either Jess! ;)
I am going to tackle a Burma campaign some day, thats some day! Ever since I bought the book Burma the longest war. Man what a great book! :cool:

I've been trying to stay off of the forum but couldn't pass this by.

For some time, I have been wondering how a campaign made up of a series of small scenarios would go over. I know a lot of us just cannot get into these giant campaigns preferring battles that can be played in a hour or so.

This way, a person could play an entire "node" of a scenario in a short while - it wouldn't require such a heavy drain on time. Easy to test as well. Whaddaya think?

Coincidentally, I just finished 2 scenarios on the Marauders. Loosely based on historical events. Starting to get a feel for them now. A pair of very nasty scenarios.

Warrior -> (5/4/2002 5:53:50 PM)

Brits.

El_Peco -> (5/4/2002 6:43:21 PM)

Both!:D

Orzel Bialy -> (5/4/2002 7:25:17 PM)

Jess,
I think that the Japanese operation into India would be a great addition...not to take anything away from Merrill and his men. ;)

M4Jess -> (5/5/2002 2:35:16 AM)

I think I agree with El_Pecoith BOTH!;)

But lets change this just a lil'bit, "Japanese operation into India would be a great addition" I like it Orzel!

Kohima-Imphal as the Japs?!! :p

Jess

Orzel Bialy -> (5/5/2002 1:18:55 PM)

Thanks Jess :)
I just think as a whole, the Japanese side tends to be a less covered topic. Their Indian Campaign was one of their last (outside of China) real land-bound offensives and I think it really should be covered.
Image the sense of urgency that must have been "in the air" as the Japanese commanders by this time knew they were fighting an unhill struggle against an allied army that would only get stronger once they finished off Germany.
Also imagine their shock when they have to admit to themselves that their British foes are no longer the ill pre-pared, ill-equipped army that had been pushed out of SE Asia some two years before!
All in all...I think (either way) it would be an interesting topic. :)

hellcat -> (5/5/2002 4:12:29 PM)

As a Brit I gotta say 'Brits' right?

Goblin- A Goblin is incredulous:eek: :)

Orzel Bialy -> (5/6/2002 9:13:15 PM)

yeah Red, why you staying away?
I noticed that you haven't posted as much...was wondering if you had taken a vacation or something. :)
Hope your not going Van Gogh us :D (Secluded artist that designs scenarios, posts them and speaks to nobody...except through his work.) Though that would be novel...everyone wondering who is that mystery man? :)

Redleg -> (5/7/2002 2:55:00 AM)

Just trying to focus on some designing and testing for the next issue of "The Dirty Dozen". It takes some time and effort to try to be sure that the scenarios we post there are bug-free and suitable to present to the public.

The Dirty Dozen collection this month is so good, it is tempting to post earlier than planned but I must be disciplined about this.

Besides, there are always so many good answers to questions on the forum, I just read them without comment. Nothing to add or dissent to.

Shack. A linked series of fairly small scenarios-which is after all what the game system is oriented toward- would be welcomed by me anyway...

M4Jess -> (5/7/2002 5:08:03 AM)

I agree! small scenarios 1-2 hour play time..japs into india!

6 (+-) scenarios in the Campaign

its a go! now to find the time...

Jess:cool: a jess is cool
