Banquet -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/10/2009 7:04:04 PM)

I'm not sure why some people seem to be getting so angry about this game. Sure, we'd all be happy to see it released right now.. but the way I see it, if it weren't for Hard Sarge, Harley and Matrix, we'd be stuck with trying to find the old versions, and getting them to work in XP and Vista.

As it is we can all look forward to getting our hands on an updated version at some point. Sure, it's taking time to do, the devs are working on it part time, and trying to do it properly..

Anyway, I don't much post on this forum, but I have been following progress and I just wanted to post my support :)

Hard Sarge -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/10/2009 7:12:07 PM)

thanks

man, there is so much backstory to this game, like I have said, if the main part wasn't so boring, it would make a great movie

My first post here, and I totally agree. I will buy it the day it's released, whenever that is. It will be worth the wait, of that I am sure.

Graycompany -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/10/2009 7:41:48 PM)

Im one of the Play Testers. The work these guys do behind the scenes is amazing. I have both of the originals, and had a wonderful time playing both. I was very happy to see someone taking on this project, as all the changes that have been made so far by this team are great. I am very happy about the multiple picture taking by the Recon. It helps alot The work with the planes and squadrons are wonderful. I think everyone will be happy with the final result.

Hard Sarge -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/10/2009 7:52:09 PM)

thanks, both of you

ahh, now get back in your cage and get back to work !

You tell him, Ron.

And a big thanks to everyone who has offered support whenever one of these threads pop up. We will return the faith you have placed in us.

Rebel Yell -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/11/2009 5:30:56 PM)

No doubt of that.  [&o]

The original had a great premise, but so many problems that it was very hard to enjoy.  I'm sure it has been incredibly difficult to fix so much when this isn't what you do 24-7.  But, trying to code the same thing from scratch would probably have taken a lot longer.

tblersch -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/20/2009 12:57:40 AM)

Actually, it probably would have been easer to write it from scratch. It's often much harder to fix someone else's code than it is to write your own to the same requirements, particularly something as complex as this game.

But really, I wanted to post to call vils a moron. "You guys are completely incompetent because you don't meet MY expectations and I WANT TO PLAY A GAME! NOW! WAAAAAH!!!" You have got to be kidding me...[:-]

Morgan60 -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/21/2009 7:47:00 PM)

Well ... if you want to see a game come out full of bugs go and have a look at the Empire in Arms forum ... gulp ... grimace!

Personally, I'll wait till it is fully ready for release.

51st Highland Div -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/21/2009 8:01:26 PM)

Looking forward to this game being released as well as Witp:AE to use up all my pennies saved from work lol..and will have to get a new PC to play them on.Im sure the games when released will prove to all that all the hard work done by the team has paid off and we can look forward to more hours (wasted [:D]) being armchair generals...

I hadn't read that blog before, though I had seen others refer to it...

I'm an Australian, when does spring end in the US, mid June? Not gonna say nothing about when we think we will be done. You can take that as "will neither confirm nor deny."

Howard Mitchell -> RE: I'm going to say it again (2/23/2009 12:07:19 PM)

I tend to lurk here and look at threads like this every now and again, because I'm sure one of these days Harld Sarge will say 'Oh, I thought you knew - we're releasing it next Wednesday' and I wouldn't want to miss it. [:)]

I appreciate the efforts you and your team are putting in to this, and that when it's ready it's ready, but not before. Given that this is obviously a labour of love I trust you folks to deliver us a finished, polished game when you are happy that it is one. So take your time. I'm looking forward to the game, but my life won't end because I can't play it yet.
