Scheer -> Question (1/31/2009 4:03:47 PM)

Does this game play like the Jagged Alliance Series with the campaign map? and i was wondering if the game is Linear.

Thanks for your Time.

I would say no. Some people use the pass they get from the soldiers in the first sector and go galloping to and fro. Others play the game in a more linear fashion and go from one connected sector to another. Once you capture the airport, you can move your mercs around very quickly via a helicopter, so that really opens up your options. One of the nice things about HG is that you may play it one of many different ways.....and it has a few different endings depending on what decisions you make during the game.

Game is not linear. It does play like JA2 in 3D. Minus some features like night ops. Which were probably planed (items and mercs have night ops stats) but did not get into game because of its problems with finishing and publishing.

Only big difference on strategic level is that there are much less sectors there and those are not arranged in chess board fashion but in some kind of irregular network. It obviously was more work to design sectors in 3D than it was in 2D. So only key areas are designed as sectors. Crossroads, towns, ports and such.

You can see small parts of strategic map on some screenshots. Sectors are small postcard like papers on sketched map with small flags.
