Ric -> Game bug or what ? (2/3/2009 1:19:12 PM)

November 43 as Jap.

I have more than 15 units TRAPPED in Chungking.
(more than 6 thousand assault value)they are fully supplied and operational with no damage or fatigue nor disruption.

I cannot move them to any place...
there are no presence of enemy units in the hexe...or hexes surrounding.

BUT in the unit order sccren is the option to attack (remember no enemy presence )(check it loading the game as allies)

When I proceed to attack, there is a combat...........lengthy abnormal one. after few days attacking chinese units will surrender but they will appear again days latter.

I know chungking is one of the cities that replaces lost units.

How I can overcome this frustrating situation.

Help much appreciated.

There have been a few posts recently ( and a while back, too ) on the "Ghost Army of Chunking" bug. I think the remedy is to set your troops to move out by giving them another Japanese base as their destination. Apparently the ghost army is invincible, but also reasonable - they won't attack if you don't. Good luck.

Yes - recent thread in the Support Forum... most people leave a small garrison in Chungking, move the rest out by setting a destination for another BASE hex as described above.

Another solution is to keep attacking the ghost army... however, the enemy gains points for your losses and you gain nothing... the ghost army should get smaller each time it comes back and should eventually vanish, but it is a pain in the neck to do this and you probably have other and better things to do with your troops.
