But not a kukhri in sight so far as I can tell. Anyhoo, aren't we expected to identify the fuel bowser visible beneath the Dakota's fuselage? Perhaps it's another Laffly.

Shows ya how little I know about the SE Asian theatre. I had no idea the Gurkhas did paradrops.

If they were paradropped, they would land headless. Paratroops don't wear flanged helmets because the air resistance when they are dropping puts a lot of strain on the neck. I've read the Germans found this out the hard way when developing their paratroops in the 1930s. Bill

The harnesses hanging in the plane were what I was noticing. Figured the parachutes could be undistributed as yet. Wasn't aware of the helmet issue but it makes sense.

Dakota Mk. III, it is[:)] Ghurka's, it is[:)] ........... Acording to image source their being airlifted.
