Ashtar -> Disappointed (2/6/2009 8:13:15 PM)

It is two weeks that the OFFICIAL patch 1.05.03 has been declared bugged (in particular, home foraging has been reported as wrong and minor multi-district nations appear to get splitted - what testers do with beta?).

We frozen our pbem game waiting for a hot fix - which has been promised, but never appeared!
Any news?

NeverMan -> RE: Disappointed (2/6/2009 8:29:46 PM)

Ashtar, after two weeks I don't really think you can call it a "hot" fix anymore, can you?

I'm sure that Marshall and Matrix are on the job. I think because of the number of bugs in 1.05 (there were more than 1 major bug if I recall) that it's going to take some time to test the "hot" fix. That's just my guess.

DCWhitworth -> RE: Disappointed (2/6/2009 9:05:00 PM)

I don't find the time span unreasonable, I'd rather the patch was tested properly. However and update on progress would have been nice.

obsidiandrag -> RE: Disappointed (2/6/2009 9:17:23 PM)

I am pretty sure I just saw a quick fix patch sent by Marshalle for insert:

"Greg:

I have enclosed 1.05.04 which is simply a different release notes with a new EXE.
Can you build this for a BETA release?

Thank you

Marshall"

That may be the fix you are looking for ... either way you can see it is in the works and should be available soon.

Dancing Bear -> RE: Disappointed (2/7/2009 1:51:51 AM)

Is this the same Greg that was meant to post 1.05.02 and 1.05.03, which if he had, might have meant that the early adaptors PBEMer's might have picked up on these game stopping bugs, before 1.05.03 was released officially?

Marshall Ellis -> RE: Disappointed (2/7/2009 3:00:36 PM)

Hey guys:

We are ready to post the 1.05.04 BUT this only has a few quick fixes (Multi-District, Forage bonus, etc). The upgrade issues are definitely related to upgrading while battle files are left. Clean your battles dir and you should be fine. This upgrade problem should be totally alleviated in 1.06

Dancing Bear -> RE: Disappointed (2/7/2009 4:22:02 PM)

Which begs the question, what the timing like for 1.06?

Marshall Ellis -> RE: Disappointed (2/7/2009 5:17:59 PM)

She is being tested as we speak. I have one more large change (In addition to the Editor) that I am coding and working on right now (Naval pursuit and evasion) so the short answer is that we do not have an ETA yet.
I will keep you posted.

Good news. When exactly are you going to post?

Marshall Ellis -> RE: Disappointed (2/8/2009 3:17:53 PM)

We're trying to get that info. Hopefully very soon.
We will keep you posted...

Jimmer -> RE: Disappointed (2/9/2009 11:56:05 PM)

My take?: Leave out the naval changes, and get 1.06 into production. Save the naval for 1.07.

Smaller and faster is better than larger and slower. Not so many bugs to handle all at once.

(Do I hear an echo?)

Marshall Ellis -> RE: Disappointed (2/9/2009 11:58:17 PM)

I am about to close down 1.06 because of all that is included already!
BTW: Evasion and pursuit are already added and ready for 1.06

YES!

Faster, smaller updates are TONS better for many, many, many reasons, the two most important being that it is better for the developer AND the user. [:)]

Agreed.
